Sometimes life gives you something you love to hold on to but then, some situations veer you away from it. But then, if it is something you truly loved, you always find your way back to it. Dr KPS Oberoi is a man that has seen that happen. His is a tale of rekindling a long lost love and his story is that of i, The Biker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A doctor by profession, Dr Oberoi served in the Indian Army before retiring as a Major in 2010. The adventurous life of the armed forces left a void and he was looking towards new challenges and adventures- things he found in abundance as he got into motorcycling. After a few days of motorcycling, he was already planning his first trip to Ladakh. After a lot of research and scouring through travelogues and information on xBhp Forums, he was ready. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But not long after that trip, Dr Oberoi moved away from motorcycling because of the accident of a close friend. Despite motorcycling being something that would bring him back to the lap of nature, crude and raw, he let go of motorcycling and took up cycling. He picked up cycling for fitness primarily but grew to be more passionate about it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slowly and steadily, he built a group of cyclists and the camaraderie with his fellow cyclists grew. Being someone who was always drawn to endurance sports, cycling slowly became a pursuit for Dr Oberoi. He has been cycling for the past 7-8 years and is already a Super Randonneur in cycling. In this time, he has clocked more than 50,000 km and has done 200, 300, 400, and 600 km in a single season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

At the moment, he is preparing for the Half Ironman that is to be held in August 2022 in Astana, Kazakhstan. Despite his achievements in cycling and despite having let go of it, he couldn’t stay away from motorcycling for too long. He heeded the call of motorcycling and is trying to find his way back to it. This time he has found his calling in adventure motorcycling where he is picking up new skills every time he is out to ride. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being someone who has been in the armed forces, Dr Oberoi considers discipline as one of the most important aspects of all walks of life. He believes that the disciplined life he led in the Army has made him better at motorcycling and cycling too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another lesson that he has learned and would like to pass on to everyone is that balance is important in everything and motorcycling has helped in this regard. He learnt how to balance his professional matters despite not ceasing the pursuit of his passion.
