The G-Class or the G-Wagon is one of the most iconic cars in the modern world. But then, when most people talk about G-Wagon, they are referring to the proper V8 animal\u2013 the Mercedes-AMG G 63. It sounds absolutely insane, it goes like a demon, and it can probably out-look most other SUVs available in the world. Now, can you do\u2026 more with it? Can someone do something to enhance all of its already grandiose aspects? Most people might say no but Brabus says hold my b\u2026 bottle. So here I bring to you the Brabus 900 Superblack\u2013 the Brabusized idea of a G-Wagon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

If I have to explain it in terms of presence, it feels like getting on and off a chariot. A deep black chariot that Batman would love if he was vintage. A chariot powered by a 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8. A 900 bhp and 1250 Nm that does 0-100 km\/h in 3.7s on the way to a top speed of 280 km\/h. Finally, when you muster up the courage to poke and prod it, it sounds like an earthquake and feels like that too thanks to the torque. Based on all that, this is some chariot! But let us start in our usual flow and talk about this massive and massively fast car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First of all, the looks. The G63 AMG is already a stunning car. It stands out because of its muscular and boxy design. Despite that, Brabus has gone to great lengths to make it stand out even more. When you decide to go for a Brabus, you go for it seeking exclusivity and with the 900 Superblack, Brabus has done just that. An extensive amount of bespoke materials and exquisite craftsmanship have gone into making this car a narcissist\u2019s dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It starts with the paint scheme, the classic Brabus Signature called Obsidian Black Metallic. There\u2019s also an extensive use of carbon fibre all around. The exterior is topped off by the 24\u201d BRABUS Monoblock Z \u201cPlatinum Edition\u201d forged wheels, finished in Signature Black, of course. This treatment also continues in the cabin as well. The interior of the Brabus 900 Superblack is simply\u2026 \u2018chef\u2019s kiss\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Despite being made of luxurious leather and finished in black, the Brabus 900 Superblack\u2019s interior is augmented by what Brabus calls Seashell Diamond quilting and perforations. Everything from the seats and trim elements to the footwells have been upholstered similarly. There\u2019s also a tribute to Brabus as a brand which was born in 1977 so you\u2019ll find 77 signets in multiple places. In contrast to the black leather, there are also dark chrome elements all around and according to Brabus, the count of the small and large places where it has been used is 206. Some that I noticed were handles, switches, speaker covers, and air vents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Along with the many carbon fibre inserts in the interior as well, the 900 Superblack is a testament to the meticulous design and execution methodology followed by Brabus. The sixth element has been used on the steering, dashboard, paddle shifters, and in some places on the centre console as well. Overall, in terms of look and feel, the Brabus 900 Superblack oozes luxury and exclusivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Now the crown jewel of the Brabus 900 Superblack is the Brabus Rocket 900\u2013 a 4.5-litre twin-turbo engine worked on extensively by Brabus to produce 900 horses and 1250 Nm of torque. The torque here is simply mind-boggling. When you start the car up, it is like you woke up an ancient beast which, fortunately, is on your side\u2026 at least until you maintain a calm mind and steady hands and feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Another thing that hits you as soon as you start it up is the sound. The stainless steel sports exhaust system sounds menacing even at idle. When you rev it, you realize that you are piloting something truly special. I got to drive this car on the autobahn and let me tell you this; it may be an SUV but the performance rivals that of sports cars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The 9-speed automatic transmission sends the power to all four wheels and can be shifted either manually or automatically. Now since it was my first time driving the car, I did not try manual but then, I did not feel the need to in the moment. I was just enjoying being pushed into the seat by the sheer pull of the thing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

But it is not a demon all the time. The active sound management ensures that the throaty burble of the V8 goes to a mild whisper at the touch of a button\u2026 a mode appropriately called the Coming Home mode. I am not going to talk about handling because I was not prepared to push it like that. It is also an SUV so offroading seems like a viable option but I did not try that. I\u2019d implore you to do the same because even a speck of dust on the immaculate black paint feels like blasphemy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I was not kidding when I called this car a narcissist\u2019s dream. It is an object of desire. Something you\u2019d like
to earn money for. In terms of exclusivity, performance, character, or presence, there aren\u2019t a lot of
cars that can come close to a Brabus\u2026 even fewer when you talk about the Brabus 900 Superblack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
