The Scout has been one of Indian Motorcycle\u2019s most popular models, even more so, the most affordable one- the Sixty. It was a cruiser that defied typical cruiser laws and logic. Quick, nimble, and a ton of fun in general. Well, Indian Motorcycle just brought the Scout lineup back, and we got to swing a leg over one! We have been putting the new Indian Scout Sixty Bobber through its paces for a few days now, and here\u2019s our review. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indian Motorcycle is one of the oldest motorcycle brands in the world. The legacy began in 1901 in Springfield, but despite being very popular, the brand took a century to come to our shores. Shortly after the brand\u2019s arrival in India in 2014, we got the opportunity of a lifetime! A Chief Vintage and a Scout on a one-of-a-kind 8,000 km roadtrip around India\u2026 man, we\u2019d say yes to a ride like The O2 Ride in a heartbeat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was our first brush with the Scout. Then we also got to ride the Scout Sixty<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, and to us, it was an instant hit. The Scout Sixty was a heady mix of testosterone and adrenaline that made you forget that you were riding a big, burly thumper. But then again, that sort of deceptive personality is what icons are made of\u2026 at least in the world of motorcycles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Enough reminiscing. The question is\u2026 what\u2019s the new Scout Sixty Bobber<\/a><\/span><\/strong> all about? Well, it is everything that the Scout Sixty was\u2026 and then some! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We will keep the tradition alive and start with the looks. The overall silhouette of the Scout Sixty remains similar. We have had no qualms with the Scout Sixty\u2019s design, so we are glad that Indian Motorcycle stuck to the general idea. In terms of changes, let us say that it has been chromed down and trimmed up. That\u2026 did not make sense. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In simple terms, it is now completely blacked out, and on the base variant that we rode, Black Metallic is the only colour available. So, looking at it feels like staring into the abyss. The only contrasting bits are the turn signals, lights on both ends, disc brakes, and the logos. Overall, the Scout Sixty Bobber is stunning to look at. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the fun part when it comes to reviewing\u2026 no\u2026 just riding any Indian Motorcycle. The engine. The name Sixty is the cubic capacity of the motorcycle in cubic inches. 60 cu-in or 999cc. It makes 85 horses and 87 Nm of torque. Compared to the previous iteration, the power is up by around 7, and the torques are down by 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The real deal is how it feels on the road and in one word- magical. The pull is intoxicating, and there\u2019s just so much torque everywhere. Then the accompanying soundtrack adds the icing on the cake, and you\u2019re transported to a world of automotive nirvana. Exaggeration? Only in words. In the real world, it is all that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Rynox Downtown Pro<\/a><\/span><\/strong> Jacket combines protection and comfort with a style that makes you stand out, whether you are on your daily ride or a weekend getaway!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There is one thing, though. It has been so long since we have been riding motorcycles with 6 gears that we found ourselves pushing the lever up in search of the sixth. The Scout Sixty Bobber only has 5. It does not make a difference in terms of riding except for the habitual quest for the sixth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Breathable, stylish, and loaded with advanced protective features, Rynox Air GT<\/a><\/span><\/strong> Pants have everything you can ask for on your daily adventures! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Then come the ergonomics. The seat height is just 654mm, so it is approachable for riders of all sizes. The rider\u2019s triangle is also very laid back with mid-controls, so hours in the saddle feel like minutes. But it never gets too laid back. All you have to do when you grab it by the neck to go fast is tuck a little. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the geometry, the Scout Sixty Bobber feels solid and planted even at rather concerning speeds. But the real good stuff is how it goes around bends. Like we said earlier about the Scout Sixty defying cruiser laws and logic, the new Scout Sixty Bobber maintains that. You can still throw it around a bend, and it will oblige, only inspiring more confidence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The suspension is good for spirited riding, but that does not come at the expense of comfort. It does a stellar job of handling bad roads. The braking hardware is more than up for the task as well. The brakes have ample bite and predictable progression, along with ABS. And that is all there is to the Scout Sixty\u2026 ABS. The rest of the electronic goodness is limited to, well, the Limited variant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Another reason why the Indian Scout Sixty Bobber feels like such a hoot is the weight. At 243 kilos (wet weight), it is fairly light for a cruiser. Add to that the low seat height, and the Scout Sixty Bobber is very manoeuvrable, be it in U-turns or tight parking spots.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All that said, is the Indian Scout Sixty Bobber a motorcycle worth the asking price of INR 12.99 lacs (Ex-Showroom)? The answer is a resounding yes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
