i bought the decathlon 7trail yesterday from a wholesale dealer in yalahanka
it is exactly same as the rock rider 5.0 but minor changes like the stickers and tire but has better brake levers according to him.
the price of this was 8300/-
below are the pics of the bike

please share your thought on this bike because i had no idea about this previously but he assured it is a better bike than rock rider 5.0 and rr5.0 is also manufactured from decathlon and they are stopping the production of rr5.0 and will sell this product from now on.
Is this a good buy ?

    Hey Congrats.

Good buy. The bike is looking good in the pics. Now just make sure that you fit the bike to your body dimensions properly, so that you can ride long without injury.

Hi, I am planning to buy a cycle. Previously I had a Hercules Rockshox with front suspension.
My max budget for a cycle is 20,000. I am interested in MTBs only.
The bikes I have an eye on is the Hercules rodeo and the Firefox colarado. Please help me to select between these two.
Rodeo is cheaper compared to colarado.
Any other suggestions other than these two?? Does anyone of you here have a Scott. If so how good it is???

Neither of the above. What is your intended usage? In that price range you can get some decent bikes. Which city are you in?

My use is mainly on road and the roads are not so good. I am from Kerala and the place I live here its a hilly area (that's not the reason I want a MTB) the terrain is not always flat. There is lot of uphill riding.
But I just want a full suspension bike.
Please feel free to suggest other models than these.

Before you start worrying about which model. First understand a few basics about cycles.

For road use, you need a road bike or a hybrid, not an MTB. However bad the roads may be.

For Hilly use, you do not need want an MTB. You want a road bike or a Hybrid. MTBs are much heavier, with thick knobby tires which are a pain to ride uphill on. You want a light bike, with thin smooth tires to ride uphill without too much effort.

You do not want a full suspension bike What you want is a bike with no moving suspension. As that is dead weight you will be lugging uphill.

What you really should be doing, is waiting for the upcoming issue of the xBhp Magazine, read it and then go ahead and buy your bike

Thank you Monk, I will try to do as you said. But I have ridden bikes with thin tyres before, and every time I felt the ride horrible. But MTB ( our desi Hercules) especially with air pressure reduced gave me the best ride. Thats why I am a bit inclined to this.

Apart from the weight what are the disadvantages of a full suspension bike??
