Default Hercules AXN MTB (2002) Restoration or New BTWIN Bicycle!!!!

    Hi All,

I am 37 and planning to shed some kilos. So, I need a bicycle to ride from and to office.

Option 1: I have one Hercules AXN MTB which I bought in 2002 I think, and it has not been used for last 10 years. It covers at least INR 1500 to fix it to be able to use it.
Option 2: Saw one BTWIN Cycle in Decathlon for 4,600/- and accessories about 2,000/- approx.

Which one is reasonable because I want to use bicycle hereafter?

    Hi Bro,

I would suggest get the old one fixed and use it for sometime. You might just needs new tyres, tubes, brake cables, rubbers, bearings etc. 1-1.5K should get it to prime condition. Cycling is about being efficient and reusing it, U would do good for the nature.

Give yourself say about 6 months. I am sure you would love it once you start cycling, and once you get into it regularly and feel that you can enjoy more on a better bike, then you may invest on a better bike.

I have seen people buying bikes over 25k and ride a few times and then leave it to rust. Bet you wouldn't want to do that.

Enjoy the Health and the breeze.

I bought a new bicycle (Btwin Riverside 120) from Decathlon on last Monday...

In an Over-enthusiasm mood -- I rode to my office and return for continuously 2 days.. Totally 48 Kms...

From yesterday night, i feel severe pain in Hamstrings, Knee joints and heels... Our colleague say it is normal for a week.. gradually it will reduce...

So I make a plan to reduce my usage to 2kms for 1st Week, 3 kms for 2nd week, .... Please advise...
