Default Charger for motorcycle in ₹200

    Hello bikers !
So here I would be sharing a new DIY that I did on my motorcycle, that is fixing a charger and is successfully working since some months without any glitches.
We all know how important it is for our devices to stay charged on long rides, so I first tried to find chargers, found many like bolt and even generics, none of them was up to my liking as they mostly came with single or dual USB charging slots.
So a friend of mine helped me here and I fixed the same charging solution on my bike. In this post I shall guide you on how to fix a charger in just ₹200.

    THE CHARGER -
The charger is totally safe, waterproof to some extent due to rubber airtight cap provided and comes with a fuse protection and fuse box with extra fuse.
It's a cigarette lighter type (USB type also available), benefits are that it is long lasting, has no frail wires, can be used for powering a lot of accesories since it supports a higher output than conventional USB.

    WHERE TO BUY -
You can buy it from TVS, tell them to give u Jupiter charger cigarette lighter type, MRP ₹159. If you want a direct USB type, buy it from HERO or TVS but that's a tad bit costlier.

    WHAT IS NEEDED -
Basic knowledge of electrical things, the charger, some copper wires of good quality, a wire stripper, a scissor, electric tape.
Optional - Cable ties, locking mechanism for fixing wires.

    HOW TO INSTALL -

1- First of all fit the charger anywhere on your bike, Apache guys can fit it near the handlebar T stem and Pulsar guys can fit it on leg-guard bolts. It should be easy to fix on most bikes, you will need a extended armature to fit it on handlebar. You will figure out the fitting pretty easy, it comes with two arms with holes, you can widen these holes if you want by inserting a scissor and stripping the plastic.

2- The black wire is for neutral, just fix a short another wire to this and fix it to bolt on chassis or strip paint and fix it there. I fixed it on a chassis bolt.

3- The multicolored wire is positive. Fix a copper wire to this first. You can fix this to ignition on your bike by taking out the wiring harness, or fix it to the rear brake lamps as I did. Just keep the wire under the body of bike and do not expose it. Use cable ties to fix it properly to the frame if needed.

4- Done ! Your charger is ready to use.

    A.
If you used a cigarette lighter type port, buy a cigarette lighter type charger online or from local shop. You can find upto 3 port ones easily with fast charging support for around ₹500-1000.
You can use this port to even use your tyre inflators like ResQtech which run eith cigarette lighter dock and even others which do.
You can use this port to run polishing machines if you want, although I do not recommend using very high power machines.

    B.
If you used a USB type, great, you can charge your devices on the go and do not need to buy a Cigarette lighter type charger, just fit a usb cable and you are good to go.

Attaching some pictures below for reference.

    The fuse box provided.

    The cigarette lighter socket.

Part number for cigarette lighter socket type. Ignore the onion peels. Had to search a lot to find this pic.

    Testing the charger.

Hope you all like the DIY

Connect it to ground on the ignition or connect it to some bolt on the chassis.
    Cheers !
