    Default How to rainproof ?

    Hello Riders...
Last week I did overall 500kms ride to Udaipur. And since it was rainy season, I encountered downpour many times. Though I had already know that I may see little rains while riding I had done some basic preparations that I must tell you.
I had set up Rynox tankbag and Gods saddlebag and covered them with the rain cover/capsule that came with them, and thought it would rainproof my luggage. (Big mistake though)
I had worn raincoat that we generally use.
I didnt have riding boots but I was not so much concerned about it as I thought my shoes would dry up easily even if they get wet little bit. Also I trusted weather forecast which said 'light showers'. (Big mistake again)

Since, it was my first long ride in heavy rains, also I am new to long rides, all my preparations failed badly. Water went into saddlebags when I crossed puddles. Their raincover even collected lots of mud. Almost all clothes got wet inside the bags.
I realized tankbag was decent for normal rains for less time, but not for heavy rains for hours.
My upper half got drenched despite of the raincoat.
And yeah, my shoes, dont ask about them coz there was so much water inside them that I could hold them down and pour it out.

Only the dry parts was my head just coz of full face helmet and the waist to knee part coz of that rainproof lower.

Now, I had less budget and couldn't go for very expensive jackets and boots, I wanna know how do I rainproof my bike rides on budget ? Saddlebags get tough to cover coz we have them tied from many straps which leave some parts open.
Also I wanna get Orezo riding boots, do they stand rains well ?
I follow some motovloggers on Yt, and seen them covering their luggage with that blue plastic type of thing, is that great really, and how do i cover my saddlebags with them?

Please suggest me detailed tips or suggestions for such scenarios as these two months of rainy season are great to ride for natural views but are challenging too at the same time.

    Thank you.
