    Default A motorcyclist's fight-back story

    The Little Person Inside

Every once in a while someone pops upon our experiential horizon giving not just an astounding new meaning to living life but imparting exemplary dignity to it, whatever its quantity or quality. One such exceptional example is former Royal Navy officer Talan Skeels Piggins who embodies a spirit more towering than the highest of mountains, all within his fallible body. Paralysed chest-below by a horrendous motorcycle crash, he clawed back into the mainstream life and then sailed beyond it as he started racing motorcycles on track once again. His story titled The Little Person Inside is not just inspiring but awe-inspiring. For someone who by his own admission wanted to end it all by the fourth day after his accident is now a greater proponent of life than any of us blessed with a 100% functional body and resources enough to see us through our living years.

He demonstrates the over-riding power of choice over the worst that can happen, a power that truly differentiates the genuinely powerful from the ordinary. His story brings forth the veracity of realising that you always have a choice, giving up or not giving up being the dominant two among them. That we can choose not to be mere puppets at the hands of fate and refuse to remain stringed to our inadequacies.

This is a unique instance when a video is being included in the Hard Torque section but if anything demands the unusual, then it is this stirring and very moving story. See it, hear him speak, watch him ride and stay inspired.
