Default Performance Mods on 220 Fi

    Hey boys,

I was looking to do some mods with my P220 Fi. It would be great if you boys can give some tips on putting in performance filters. i have read that putting in a performance filters makes no difference in a P220 since bajaj has already churned out max power out of the engine, what do you guys thinks of it and i would appreciate it if any of you share ur thoughts on it.

If you put in a filter, you will also need to change that heavy exhaust. There are performance exhausts available for 8K odd and you easily gain some 10 odd kilos. Throw away the fairing and you lose another 8 odd kilos! That is 18 kilos less on your bike with a free flow exhaust. Rest I will let the experts do the talking.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

You can go for a free flow exhaust to bump up the performance . see here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/pit-stop...w-exhaust.html

@Ken - by removing the fairing we cant gain 8 Kg because after removing it also we also need to put a headlight replacement even the 220S unfaired version is lighter only by 4 kgs as listed by Bajaj .

@SpeedBuggy : Why in this world you need an Performance Mod for P220FI...
It already Extracts its Full Capablity....

There are lots of negative points only remains for the sake of some 5 or 10 kms higher speed....
    Its one of the VFM

My advice would be do not go for any Performance Mod - maintain her as she is now for her Lifetime thats more a Toughest Job which you can possibly do...

Hey thanks for your inputs guys. @ Thunder, your advice was the same thing in my mind. However i wanted to do some tweaks here and there for example the exhaust i know for the fact they are heavy and wanted to know if i can do something about it. i am not very keen about the FFE system.

Filtering is not really advisable.. Makes the bike run very lean & the non-feasibility of altering the AFR much makes it worse.

I have something else in mind for my bike.

The 220 FI has very good acceleration & torque which can be felt throughout the rpm range. There is basically no great difference in the engine internals between P220 FI & P220 DTSi except graphite coated pistons etc. But still P220 DTSi does higher speeds which is mainly due to the taller gearing.
Hence i would go for the 5th gear of the P220 DTSi making only my 5th gear taller & the rest remains the same. I can enjoy the good torque & also can happily cruise in 5th gear at higher speeds with better mileage. For my insane speed bursts i can go for a shorter 4th gear aswell from any of the pulsar siblings.
