Post Keep it oiled and firm and you will be fine!

Hey abishekkrishna, I have a Pulsar 150 for two years now and the chain does make some noise now and then. However up till now the chain and sprockets are just fine. I just oil them every month or so.
I also have a friend who happens to own a Pulsar 200 and his bike's chain makes a hell lot of noise. I asked him whether it was a problem but he said that such noise is common and it came right from the time he bought the bike.

Regarding your query on whether it can damage the chain or sprocket, you have to take the opinion of the service center mechanics. Let them have a look at it. Generally, if you keep the chain and sprocket oiled and firmed up, the set lasts for a long time.

    Cheers mate!

I don't think that chain noise is normal with Pulsars. It's because your chain may be excessively loose.

Check the wear & tear of sprockets & chain.

chk the coupling rubbers at rear hub... they might have crushed and sprocket hub might have become lose . replacing them is not a costly move either.

    Default Chain noise

My pulsar 150 is 8 months old. Two days back i got my chain tightened by a mechanic. It was loose and touching the chain cover. Now after tightening, not touching but the chain rolling noise is coming. If i press the clutch i can hear that clearly. How can i stop or reduce this noise. Whether it requires lubrication or cleaning? Anyone help me out pls.

I guess you need to lubricate the chain... that should solve the problem.

And yeah, occasionally it is a good idea to clean the chain with diesel or kerosene, it will definitely increase your sprocket and chain life. Lubricate the chain after cleaning.
