I didn't mean that the issue will be sort out themselves. Just that by next 15 days or so, all SVC centres will know about the solution to the issue. Just that let the bike be atleast 2000Kms on odo, so that everything settles down. Start resolving the issues after then only.

To be sure check the OIL level in the OIL inspection window, with centre stand and the bike is off.

@Thread Starter: Were you riding on slightly wet roads when this happened? If yes, this is definitely a sensor malfunction and a common occurance on the P220 too. Definitelly not a serious issue.

BUT, if this is not the case, we might need to dig deeper for the solution.

It started from the 2nd day itself and after riding say 2kms the indicator would start blinking. If you switch off ignition and restart it would go but again start after few kms. From past few days its not popping up but the spanner indicator is constant. Time to go for 1st svc

I am from Chennai and its hot here. I drove it for 20min in high traffic. Within sometime(5 min), the engine become hot and the metal below the seat is too hot that I cannot sit in my seat comfortably. After reaching the place, before switching off the engine, I checked the radiator fan and its not working. And also while riding the low oil pressure indicator is also blinking. Its been more than 1 week now, the bike given to SVC and still It is not rectified ...so worried...

1st servicing done. The sensor problem still alive, really don't know what to do. Everyday day when I go to office or come back from office it starts blinking. I asked my younger who takes the bike to college he says he is not facing it. Yesterday I was at the pillion and he rode the bike no sign. Don't know whats going on. Also after riding for sometime rmp goes to 3 at idle even when shifting the rpm doesn't settle down immediately.

Not to worry man. Bajaj has come out with a modification to the sensor or the switch , as per the service engineer. He said that bajaj has already sent emails to dealers about the change and that the spare might come in a week and it would take only 15 minutes for the changes. Check with the service center about the changes and get it replaced/fixed under warranty.

Mods: Hope this rant is not OT

Regarding the sensor issue, I had lodged a complaint against the service center where I got my first service done. Said I had issues the oil sensor (prior issue, not fixed) and massive vibrations (introduced after service)

    BIG MISTAKE
Service center representative calls me to get my bike in for sensor replacement. I take the bike in on 1st September. My bike was molested for over 6 hours in that shop :(

Gave the bike for the first time at 8am - kept waiting till 930am 3 mechanics take 2 hours to take apart the panels/tank/carb replace sensor - and put it back together.. Issue seems fixed for now.

Drive around 10km and head back home. On the way back, I let go of the throttle at 60kmph and the bike keeps accelerating past 80 before I hit the kill switch. Bike is now idling at 8000rpm. Reduce idling via screw. Now the bike is alternating between idling at 8000rpm and stalling in traffic.

Take it back to service center. One of the mechanic take the bike for a spin with me pillion, doesnt take the bike over 4000rpm. Says no issue and asks me to leave. I dont budge and call the service representative. This a$$#@$# takes my bike on the wakdewadi highway and rips it. Did I mention the bike is still in run in? Thankfully (or regretfully) the issue comes back.

Back to service center. He opens the throttle in neutral and keeps it banging off the rev limiter for close to a minute. I go WTF!! And he says how I find out whats the issue if you dont let me test the bike.
He tells me the bike need tappet tuning. I respond the issue wasnt there till today morning, how the F did it occur in the last 4 hours. Tell him I am not leaving till the bike is fixed!

Dj vu 3 mechanics take 2 hours to take apart my precious, and find out the accelerator cable was routed incorrectly and was getting jammed.
Finally the issue is resolved did not crop up the entire day or so I thought

2nd Sept, Sunday 6am, I am meeting a fellow xBHP-ian for the KTM Orange day. Hardly do I take the bike out of my parking THE FREAKING OIL SENSOR LIGHTS UP!!

    END RESULT:
    - Waste of an entire day
    - Oil sensor still messed up
    - No receipt for replaced part
    - Bike feels like s#it with vibrations worse than before

I dont dare complain to customer care, lest they send me back to the same service center

Sorry to hear about the bad experience. Out of curiosity.. was the service center a dealer service center or just an authorised service station. My guess is that the services done at dealers (main showroom) or service centers of highest reputation would be best bet . I would still suggest that you communicate with customer care the same way you have written (might have to screen a few words ) and even if the same service center calls don't go. Best of luck mate

Just to add. Whenever you visit service centre ask them to prepare job card with the issues listed clearly. Take a photo of the job card and save it. Might come in handy always

exactly .. my 2009 model p220F is still having this oil sensor issue and still unresolved. Changed multiple sensors, oil all topped up but still the low oil indicator comes up after riding few kms. I am now fed up of the svc guys as they keep saying its not an issue, But this still keeps bothering me .. Any clue as to what it could be, I want to end this ... Foreva

hello bro, does your bike gives any issue in pulling? rpm increases but the bike seems like its giving a hard time in pulling especially in hiliy areas. feels like there is some vibrations somewhere near the engine from the left side. i dont know if its from the chain sprocket.
