Default Very Urgent. Upsized tyre touching swingarm rod

Hi all so this is my first forum as i am a new member of this wonderful group. i own a pulsar 150 dts-i ug3 model. My rear stock tyre is 100/90/70. Recently i changed my tyre with Michelin Pilot Sporty 120/80/17 (TL). I have heard that upsizing tyre beyond 110 in pulsar 150 would touch chain cover.but it don't touch mine.Bike was running well and i rode almost 90 kms after changing tyre.but the problem is yesterday i was taking my bike out my garage (not riding) while i felt the wheel is slightly clumsy(very little).then i found out that the rear tyre is touching a rod which is connected from rim hub to swing arm as support just below the rear brake wire.now i am confused as it's not the chain cover which i could have removed in case.but it's the opposite side (right side).i am really worried what modification could be done and if any mechanic would solve this problem. before i show any mechanic i just need some good advice. please help if anyone have any idea about this.i have uploaded the picture with red arrow mark where it touches wheel.

P.s: i work 6 days week so only Sunday i can take to mechanic.so before that please help me out.

Ah, maybe change your swingarm to that of P180. I'm not getting a clear picture here, maybe other members would provide better solution.

Hi bro that rod is the one that supports the rear brake liner cover from rottating with the wheel.Do one thing u mark the area where its touching the tyre then remove that rod and give it a bend at the area where its touching and put it back and see . Am sure it will work fine because i had this issue before in my 2000 model CBZ classic and i did same thing and got rectified.

    100% correct. i had a P150 UG3 since 2006 (sold a few days ago)

one more thing, i suspect that 120 section tyre should touch chain cover since i had installed a 110 tyre, and since your tyre is not touching chain cover but iinstead touching that rod on opposite side, means your tyre is not aligned straight, so plz check it. the mechanic may have mis aligned the tyre slightly to prevent it from touching chain cover by tightening the chain adjuster nuts unequally on both sides.

Yup as said above by princesirohi, it's an alignment problem, get it alligned properly. . . I think 120/80-17 can fit but if it causes more then I think you need to take it to the welding shop, cos one of my friend upgraded in the same way of his Hunk tire from 100/90-18 to 12/80-18 and he said little alteration is required if the swingarm does not provide that much place. . . I am also not getting a clear idea about it looking at these pics, but I think these are the things which can cause the tire to touch only to one side. . .

    Cheers!!!

I suggest replacing the swingarm to that of P180/P200, it's a direct fit and would be better than all these "jugaads".

That'd be cost one bro, if he has the money he can do that or else, he can do changes with the swingarm by taking it to a welding shop, that will also have a neat job done. . .

The pictures aren't that clear to even guess what could be wrong . Repost a better picture if you'd like.
At the moment I would suggest

    1. to source a used swing arm from your local junk yard. Having spent so much for tyres and spending few more hundreds at a junk yard sounds fair to me.
    2. Maybe, just maybe, you could add another spacer of about half an inch or so to the right end of the axle and try it out. It might work! Suggest this idea to your mechanic and find out his opinion too.

Getting angry at somebody is the same as getting angry with a bike that just won't go. You should stop and start thinking.
A good mechanic will let you watch even without charging you for it. | Riding faster than everyone else only guarantees youll ride alone.

It is funny to know that we've been imitated and copied so well
and surprising when we notice our mistakes are copied as well.
