Question Need help booking a RE500 in Goa

(note to mods: Not sure whether this query should go in GBD or Help me..please feel free to move the thread to the suitable forum)

    Hi All,

I will be at Goa from 30th Nov to 3rd Dec (4 days) and would like to rent a bike. Now, before I get lambasted with links to sites like
    www.besttoursingoa.com, www.indiabikes.com, www.enfieldpoint.com, www.roofnride.com or www.goaholidayhomes.com,
please let me clarify - I have already done the Google search part and I am unable to find what I am specifically looking for. In short - this isn't the usual "where can I rent a bike and blah blah" query.

I am very specifically looking for a Classic 500 or a Thunderbird 500 with an option to book a bike online with booking confirmation. Most of the sites I stumbled across ask me to fill up a form with my contact details and then send me an automated reply on the lines of "We will get in touch with you soon". I never heard from them after that. Ripoffs!

There are, of course, a couple of genuine sites which do allow online booking, but they are primarily targeted at international tourists and theiir rates are outlandishly expensive - I mean, 3500 bucks a day for a bike? I have rented bikes at Goa before and I can confidently say that for those prices I can get a self-driven Thar!

Hope I have been specific enough with my query - I want to get a confirmed booking done with realistic rates, with an assurance that a specific bike (CL500/TB500) will be awaiting me when I check in at Panjim. Any pointers in this regard will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Query Approved

Honestly, I can't figure out where to put this thread either. So leaving it here!

A Bullet rental should cost around 1000-1200 in season. Off- season you can get one in 400 bucks as well.

Best bet is to find a bike when you reach and negotiate the rate , between 700 and 1000, i guess would be what you expect, i think they give you a stinking helmet to use as well, next to Panjim bus stand you'll find rental guys.

Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

@stefanm I tried that last year and had a bad experience. Ended up paying 900 per day for an Avenger 200. And mostly those guys don't have any of the recent REs...they had couple of old CI bullets (with brakes on the left), which I don't want to book (the reverse configuration would take quite long to get used to).

I want to avoid that mess this time around...probably some xbhpians from Goa can help with references/pointers in the right direction.
