Default Where to get Sbk serviced in kolkata?

    hello ppl,
finally the day has come when i get the go ahead to get myself a sbk, im really excited but... there is always a 'but'...my excitement has to be limited coz i dont know where ill get it serviced in kolkata coz kolkata hardly has any sbk's and nobody know's anyone who services them. sad huh?....it true though..met this guy who says he does but im not convinced...he doesnt seem to know his bikes well...he asked me "cbr600 is a 4 cylinder or a 2 cylinder?"
anyways i have zeroed in on the cbr600...i simply love it...would have got myself one abt 2 yrs ago when i had first posted that im getting myself one but just days before ordering i had 2 massive car accidents in a span of 4 days....both the times i was behind the wheel and came out unhurt luckily but my parents freaked...then there were astrologers and other brainy ppl who ended up telling my parents to ban me from riding or driving for six months coz im going through a bad patch in life...couldnt be bothered listening to them but my parents listened them and so i had to listen to whatever my parents wanted...and obviously my sbk plans came crashing down...finally after many months of convincing ive got the go ahead again and dont wanna loose this opportunity bcoz there aint no sbk service centre out here...
i know i know i gotta look at the practicality of the situation but man i need that bike desperately...been getting happy dreams at night since i got the nod...you'll know what i mean
so ppl would really appreciate it if someone could help me out with this and also who to get it imported by....have got in touch with dreambikes pune but more sources wouldnt hurt..

    thanks

YOu should have posted the above in ...accidents and lesson learnt thread..not here..

And coming to servicing ?? Kolkata has hardly sbk's. Now you are enquiring about mechanics ??

Better you learn..to do minimum servicing of a bike like..changing oil and airfilters and some other basic stuff rather depending on others...

    DIY!
Basic servicing, oil change and oil filter change every 5000 kms and changing the coolant every 10000kms and getting a K&N fixed and cleaning is not big deal. Check the Sbk Workshop on xBhp:
    http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...-workshop.html

Check the Torque values of the nuts that you will need to open. Get yourself a Torque wrench and the necessary heads and allen keys that you will need to open the various Allen nuts and other nuts. You will get by pretty easily.

You will need to get your injectors cleaned around 13k-17K kilometres. But I think that by the time you get there, Sbk workshops will open up in Calcutta.

The basic stuff is no big deal. Nothing to be apprehensive about. It is actually pretty easy. But stuff like injector cleaning, valve shim replacements are not easy. You need qualified techies for that.

The F650 is really a piece of cake. Single mill, carb, no fairing to remove. I still prefer a DIY, coz I am yet to see good mechs using a Torque wrench and measuring the Torque to tighten a nut. They invariably over-torque the nut! As they say, they get it gorilla tight!!!

    ken da,
yes i totally agree with you....i just wanted to inform the topic starter about the few options available in calcutta....as aptly pointed out by you,no one measures the torque while tightening....and to add to that there is no castrol bikezone in calcutta too.....after the official launch of few superbikes, they can be srviced at d SVC but not the others.....
