There's no denying the fact that switching to a free-flow exhaust results in higher emission of harmful gases. Apart from that, the increased noise also causes noise pollution!

Let's not forget angry neighbours and general public on the streets who think that such exhausts are a nuisance!

although the increase in power is marginal, with a good exhaust, that minute increase in power can easily be felt by any experienced rider. the engine breathes better and power delivery and pick-up becomes a bit more "eager".

this is based on my ride on a CBR250 with an aftermarket exhaust of a fellow xbhpian and comparison with stock CBR. i could feel, that yes there is a difference, though small, it is there.

but i strongly feel that the price at which these are available is not at all justified. grossly overpriced.

theoritically pollution may fail, but practically it passes easily...just marginal difference...
Btw a proper ffe make the throttle response crisp, the engine smoother, mild increase in mileage and a much much rev friendly nature... It also reduces engine braking to some extent

I purchased my RC exhaust for one and only one reason: Performance.

It performs better now, and it seems that exhaust gives me more confidence in taking right turns while leaning. Could be psychological more than scientific, but a good amount of my bike's nature has been changed for sure.

Sound is just an unneeded and added merit (or demerit, depends). Same for the looks.

Add one more option in poll as " To make it Illegal " , IIRC aftermarket exhaust will make bike illegal in india .
Correct me if i am wrong .

I think though peoples add it for different reasons like sound ( mostly ) , performance ( how much in small cc bikes ? ) but end up making it illegal .

Actually, sound shouldn't be an issue. Most branded FFEs come with DB killers anyway. It's up to the biker to use it or not!

but you have to remove the DB killer to get the actual performance gain.

thats a small sacrifice... Everything is fine as long as we dont end up in jail.. even removing saree guard is illegal... India have lots of useless laws...no offence... I would love to have a ffe on my bike which is properly tuned for that particular bike...

Anyone knows if the LeoVince GP Corsa being sold by BachooMotors does good to R15?

Is it really tuned for R15 v2.0 or is it same for R15 to Duke and are being sold at different prices.

@RahulBarik, Illegal to remove saree guard in India?
