Now this thread are growing fast.....thank to all respective owner for their input of ownership. Anyone completed the run-in period yet ?

if so, How is the top whack.... I mean top speed attended ?

Please share the info, as it is 4-valve engine, this is the much needed info (I know I can look it at review site, but they are professional rider, and their body build to achieve higher number in those speed test, plus they attend those magical number by completely lean down on the tank, which is pretty odd in this kind normal seating (up-right) postion bike)

    Top speed attended :-

    Your Weight :-

    (Please do this without pillion)

          Got my ST today eveving.

          Initial impressions:
The feel of the bike is very heavy and masculine and so totally not like a 125cc bike!
gear shift is so smooth like butter!
engine sounds nice but also different unlike any other.
tyres are Kenda which ive never ever come across before which kind of is the only disappointment till now.
Looking forward to completing my 1st service.

And they have hiked the price!!!

The showroom guy showed me the new price list and now its 65420 or so!! They have hiked in just 1 day here in Chennai at Vishaka Bajaj, not sure about the other showrooms..
He said the bike is moving well n fast so they hiked the price!!

Can any of the owners confirm if their bikes came with a rear tyre hugger like the one in this pic?

The hike in price is official and they attribute it to hike is transportation prices which is again due to hike in diesel prices. The increase is only Rs100. Check the below article.

              Source : ET

Bajaj sold 35,000 units of the Discover ST in September and is targeting it to take it up to 45,000 in October and 50,000 in November, he said.

Its also expecting a growth of up to 10 per cent in overall sales in the October and November season which sees many Hindu religion festivities, Srinivas said.

The company, which increased prices by an average of about Rs 100 last week due to increase transportation cost following the diesel price hike, does not see any more revisions in the next two months as thecommodity prices have stabilised, he said.
              .
              .

                  EURO TYRES SUCKS!

few days back, i was riding near a construction site and really the bike started slipping even though the road was dry!

I think Bajaj Discover ST with euro tyres and kinda tyres must be replaced with some more grippy tyres. Afterall paying Rs.61500 we must get a good pacakage!

There are some conditions on the road where even the stickiest Pirelli tyres will start to lose traction. You will bless those same tyres when they hold their own even after 40k km. The primary objective of a commuter tyre is to last long. The only place where it probably lacks is under wet conditions and hard cornering, none of which were valid in the condition you specified. The rest of it, I guess would have happened even with MRF tyres.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

I agree! even Best tyres may get fail in those conditions.

Nope. But before buying the bike, I wished that it had a RPM meter. But when it roars it makes you to forget the RPM meter.

friends be aware that the Law regarding the HIGH SECURITY NUMBER PLATE is NOT implemented by the court not yet.some authorities says it will be implemented soon.but delears are misleading the public and forcing them to choose security plates which costs 4-5 times the ordinary one .

Hmm... RPM meter replaces speedo once we get used to shifting gears according to RPM. Glance at speedo is required only when we get feeling that we are overspeeding. I think RPM meter should be provided as default feature.
