Hello friends, I have encountered a serious issue now!
In fact just surprised that the rear brake pads of mine just lasted exactly for 4500 kms and I had been driving without knowing that coz I didn't find any issues in braking..!!
But after sometime I found some weird noise coming from the rear and took the bike to the service centre and the guy there told me that the rear brake pads has gone and to my surprise the disk plates has also scrapped a little(more than little)!
So the guy is asking me to change both the brake pads and the disk plates which costs me around ₹2000!!
Should I need to change the disk plates too?? But I can really see the disk plates have scrapped to certain level! ☹️
And does the rear brake pads costs ₹1010???
Please throw some light on this friends!

Better to change both. Prices you mentioned are correct. Plate was 1.2k some 2 years ago, so I assume it will be around 1.5k now at least.

Hi guys, I was constantly getting the engine error signal and it was a 46 error code. I changed the batteries but still the issue was there. I went to the SVC and they told it was a rr unit use and I had to replace it. Had a word with the manager who told that the v2 faces this issue as the rr unit is placed in a shielded area where there is little or no airflow which increases the temperature of the rr unit and it finally goes kaput. He has placed the rr unit in a different place now. Anybody else faced this issue?

Can you tell me which model is your bike ? and when and from where you bought it (assuming you are from Bangalore). I dont agree with what the manager has said regarding the position of RR unit and it makes the bike a problem child. Never ever this is happening on a Yamaha.

I had bought the bike in 2015 from anurag motors bangalore. I have covered 25k kms as of now and the problem had arised at 23k kms. Initially it used to happen once or twice a week and gradually it became frequent. The rr unit was replaced from perfect riders(bannerghatta Road). I had a word with the person who replaces the parts and he also told that this issue was frequent.

He was right then. The 2015 model had some issues. Is it solved ?

Yes. As of now the engine light hasn't turned on since the part was replaced. So even the 2016 bikes have the rr unit placed in the front right? Just want to know whether it was the problem of the placement or part manufacturing issue.

Ok, I have seen cases where the light has again popped up after RR unit change and it was finally diagnosed as an ECU malfunction. Lets see if it pops up again. Yes, AFAIK, all version 2's have RR unit under the meter.

No, The 3 phase version 2.0(2011-2014) have the RR near the battery under the seat . Its only with the 2FB versions that the RR size was moved to the head light stay

Yeah that's correct the position was changed and the size of RR unit was made smaller hence it has less number of hear shrinks.
Me and my friend made jugaad and moved it near the horn. Its fine now.

Okay then, let's see what happens. Will update if any issue arises.
