You cannot compare the front Disc Brake with the rear one on several parameters like -

    1) This disc size is small than front, that means less stopping power.
    2) The rear disc has engine transmission pressure.
    3) Most of the weight is front biased which means additional stopping power in front and not in rear.

Now, based on these parameters the rear stopping power will obviously be less.

@ Siddharth - your bike is 2 weeks old, please give the pads some time to adjust, even for tires. Yes it will heat up even if you stop at 5kmph speed. You can check if they are touching by just rotating the wheel and inspecting a hiss sound after rotations, it will be repetitive. No it doesn't affect the fork, potholes are there that's why the suspensions are there.

    Himanshu - refer above information.

@all - Any guidelines for replacements or checking in the 5th servicing? V2 members with over 5th service please reply.
No No...its not over analyzing... just a doubt :P And eshan yes i hear a hissing sound.Even i showed to SVC,they say its normal in disc brakes :/

Is it normal?? Am asking bcz i have never xperienced R15 above 6k Till now....Please help
Stop worrying too much about your bike, enjoy her instead. Nothing is gonna happen if you simply service her regularly

    Hi,
Have you changed the chain sprocket set yet ?
I was advised by the SVC in my 6th servicing itself to do so, but I didn't as there seemed to be more life in the chain.
Now ODO reads 17K and chain needs tightening after every 750-800 kms. Took it to another SVC and they said it can go little more.
What do you suggest or your experience on that.

    +1

Never happy with the service Yamaha Provides, never happy with the product quality (Fork Issue)
And when its your turn to do something, buy 200 bucks angel eyes and make it look like a toy-bike. . unbelievable.

The SVC mechanic told me that my chain n sprocket set is good to go for another 3k kms atleast (currently running at 18.5k kms). I myself want to know more on how to know when the sprockets have lost their life. Ivin had posted some time back stating that the sprocket teeth become sharper when worn out. I tried comparing mine with a relatively new r15, both looked similar to me If somebody could post pics showing the difference, that would help.
Further, I have a query on x ring vs o ring chain set which I had posted earlier. Did not fetch any replies though
