how old is the spark plug on the bike ?
check the condition of air filter, and maybe also replace the fuel filter and see.
clean the tb again.. make sure the throttle cable is routed and adjusted properly.
another thing i can think of is, maybe the injector needs cleaning.

so before you blindly replace the pump.. check and service the above parts and see how it goes.
Yes, I am thinking of visiting svc on weekend and see what they say after checking the following parts.
Bike was serviced 4 Kms ago, but I think my NGK spark plus is around 1.5-2 years old.

Could be stator coil or battery issue. My experience was that the battery was not picking up the charge properly.

I think I have done around 17-18k kms on the NGK iridium spark plugs. Is it time to change?

Let me add a few that comes to my mind. A loose battery terminal lug(s) can in fact cause all sort of pester, right from stalling issues, to low battery warnings and console warnings going off. Start off by checking your battery terminals first. Secondly, a failing battery or a failing stator will read zero value at the speedo even though the bike is doing good speed. This warning has been a precursor to almost all the Dukes out there, where eventually they burn out their stator coil and end up getting stranded as the battery fails to get charged.

Get your battery voltage checked through a multimeter at a SVC to make sure your stator and battery are in good shape, that should give you a start.

    Keep your observations posted.

    Cheers!

    The girl said, 'NO!'

    THE END

it should normally be able to last much longer.. even the oem plug is easily good for 15k km.
i am yet to plonk in the ngk ir plug, been lying around with me for quiet some time.. due for a service in the next month or so and it will be a diy general service replacing all the filters, plug to ngk ir and the coolant. just need to get my hands on the filter kit. haven't been riding it as much as i would like to the past six months, except a few weekend rides.
touchwood no major issues or breakdowns so far, only this so far https://www.xbhp.com/talkies/help-me...ml#post1375238
i hope it was the contacts and not the console itself that was faulty.. been two weeks now and the issue hasn't cropped up. anyone with a funny speedo reading, please do check the voltages to ensure the battery is fine and recharging and also clean up the contacts. i believe it is due to some bad connection that is causing the speedo show erratic readings.. and it is not the fault of the console itself (it merely gives out the readings from the signals it receives.. that's my guess), so avoid replacing the console unless absolutely necessary if you want to save a few bucks.

    Hey guys
A small problem here, need help!

I was away for a couple of weeks so my bike was sitting idle for 2 weeks, although my dad was idling the engine for a couple of minutes on a few days while I was gone.

Yesterday I rode my bike, but it took a quite a while to get it started. I let the bike idle for around 5 minutes to let the temperature up and then I went for a ride, but the bike stalled suddenly in the middle of the road, although I was able to get it started. But what could be the issue? Battery or just the fact that it was idle for so long?
