My trusty RE Himalayan went to her new home in Nov2023 after almost 3.5yrs ,30k kms and tons of good times with me.
Was on the lookout for a lighter bike after the Himi and after test rides of H452, S400X and the S400 put my money on the S400 - it was-By God's Grace and blessing of ancestors and elders-a gift to myself on my 50th.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

The bike is now @2300kms with first service done(oil change + fasteners check+software update).
Additions are an OE lower engine gaurd ,Carbon racing handlebar risers and a Carbon Racing clear windshield which has been chopped by 40mm from the top by an angle grinder to avoid helmet buffetting and excessive wind noise at the helmet level.
I am unable to decide on the saddle stays as none are looking appealing to me. Suggestions for appropriate saddle stays are welcome.

Despite shortening the windshield by 40mm,the in helmet wind noise remains at an unacceptable level-so guess will remove the windscreen shortly. Also as the mercury has shot up ,the radiator fan is almost always on in traffic and the bike is also stalling and shutting off more in bumper to bumper traffic-have to be more mindful of this fact in bumper to bumper traffic

ID:	2240082 The bike has crossed 3000km mark-the windshield has now being shortened down to the level of the ribs and now resembles a vestigial windshield -now it is only a styling element and number plate relocator

The bike is now closing in on 3500kms - in the last couple of days, the bike had a propensity for low speed stalling - so took it the ASC - the guys there downloaded the latest upgrade into the ECU - the bike was better but still not fully ok - on my insistence, the mechanic opened the air filter - which was fully choked - hence got it replaced. The OE filter is oil soaked paper , the grime sticks to it and doesn't blow off properly even with repeated efforts to blow away the accumulated dirt with compressed air. The filter looks brand new from the outside which means it has done it's job well. The new air filter cost 350+250labour

The bike is at 6250kms now-excatly 3000kms after air filter change, the bike was stalling at low speeds-went to the ASC and lo n behold-the air filter is fully black from the inside-went for a compressed air clean and chain clean and tightening -bill was Rs500.The oil level and coolant level were within limits. An ECU update was done too.Company says service interval of 16000kms but will proceed for an oil change at the 7500-8000km mark for my peace of mind.

I have a 2010 suzuki gsr150.. the air filter on it looks just like yours but mine is dry inside.. easily lasts 20000kms ..costs between 200-300. My ride is nearing its RC renewal date, i do want to upgrade to a slightly bigger one but the maintenance cost for these big bikes feels like I will have to pawn my kidneys.. i have a 20k salary job so for the time being satisfied with my gs. I dont need any gizmo laden bike as i do my own chota mota maintenance.. if there is no other option then will try for Fitness renewal..

Radiator fan went kaput @7300kms-replaced under warranty. While the bike was in the ASC,went in for the second service-bill Rs2850.
RAIS@vypin ,yes the maintaince of these 400cc things is on the higher side.

9000kms up due to a trip to New Delhi and back-changed the air filter to a new one before the trip -front brake pads have around a 1000km of life left -will replace them post the 10000km mark-first time used a handlebar phone mount -Bobo with dampeners- and charged the phone from the C-type charging point behind the headlight-the mount proved invaluable during the trip as Delhi is tough to navigate through without Google maps.

Have been using Zana offset risers but my handle keep getting loose -finally had to add a packing of thin sandpaper between the handlebar and top clamp to get it to stop moving-not an elegant solution-but can't decide whether something is wrong with the risers or my is it something else.
Also added extra foam into the front seat -cut from an old Activa seat rear portion- approximately 1.5" of extra padding-done as wanted my curvi tusch to have an comfortable perch -added benefit is the added legroom due to the changed rider triangle-handle risers have been added to maintain the standard riding position with the added seat height.
