Here is an update. I had earlier posted the "high temp" warning and that the bike was stalling. VJ had replied to the thread asking me to check on the coolant level. I checked and the coolant level wasn't alarming.

I took to bike to SVC and asked them straight to change the fan. Since, i thought the fan wasn't roasting my legs as it used to. They asked me to wait for a day till the do the tests with the bike to isolate the cause. I hesitatingly agreed. The first advisor told me that there are 2 reasons for this warning to appear. 1. Fan not working properly and 2. the sensor gone kaput. So, in my limited knowledge, i thought the hell with sensor. Cant take the risk of seizing the engine and asked them to change the fan.

The SVC kept my bike for around 36 hrs and called me the next day afternoon to come take delivery of the bike. They informed that the engine coolant had deteriorated and wasn't doing its job properly. They changes the coolant completely. Costed me 663 INR. Whereas, the fan was around 1200 & sensor was 800 bucks.

I drove around for a bit and the bike is just fine!!! all that hate i felt towards the bike has just evaporated. I love being astride the duke.

    Thanks Vj. You were right.

You are supposed to lube the chain every 500km.

Apache 180 right? And what was the cost like? (I know it's been a while)

Thanks, by rubber boots, you meant the rubber outer covering of the mirror right?

Will remove the leg guard now.

P.S.: Just half-dropped my bike onto a nearby Pulsar in a hotel parking half-an-hour ago. As the stand I applied was only halfway across the swing.

I am using Tribocor lube, but not cleaner. It's more wetter than Motul and holds longer, but messy all over rim. Have to lube at least an hour before taking bike to minimize splashing on rims, but it stays on longer than Motul. It's VFM than Motul. 360 bucks for 500ml compared to 550 for Motul, the reason why I am still sticking with it. The can is more pressurized and I have already did almost 10 sprays and still there is enough for at least 2 left.
