Yes the stainer has a magnet but it is very thin strip of it and there is one more stainer below the engine, that does not have a magnet and I found a bit of metal debris on that also.

Got my bike on Friday evening. Rode 800+ Km on the weekend. I am completely in love with my bike. Will post pictures and write a longish ride review shortly. Will miss it dearly if I get to travel abroad for a month, I so don't want to go and keep going on long rides instead. Taking corners on the bike is like a dream. I have posted pictures on the Duke Chennai and Bangalore Facebook owners groups.

            Dear Brother

KTM 125 will not be launched in india. It is an EU specific model.

Actually X ring are better than O ring chains due to their better sealing. X rings have less drag due to friction, thus providing longer chain & sprocket life.

i saw it in rishikesh where i reside ..it was same as ktm 200 but one bike was grey coloured without any name and second was grey with orange side tank..the riders were wearing factory worker kind of light blues clothes so that made me skeptikal about testing new model..125 duke is same but just 125 cc block so might be next year it will get to our market

                      Guys please help!!

Just came back from the KTM service center. I wanted to have the oil and filter changed. My bike has done about 120 km. They told me they will put motul oil as the new oil as recommended by KTM and i said yes go ahead with it. After everything was done and i paid the amount etc. they returned the left over oil back to me and to my horror i discovered they have put in Motul 7100 10w50 SYNTHETIC oil!!! I panicked and asked them if it was okay and they said it was perfectly fine and recommended by KTM.

It it really fine? What should i do now?

There are different schools of thought about engine oil change related to break in/run in. Some of us like to run it in hard and do a quick oil change right at the beginning (100kms - 300 kms seems to common these days). After this people wait for the next oil change during first service. Yours truly is also guilty of this unorthodox run in. For more details Google - Motoman run in. More sources have confirmed that using mineral oil during run in is better for the engine than using FS, at least for the 3 - 5k kms. I am using Motul 3000 15w50 and have clocked 950 kms. I will use the same brand and rated oil for my official oil change during the service in a couple of days. Will continue till 2nd service. I am perfectly comfortable doing this especially after I noticed that the bike has gotten pretty smooth since it crossed 400 kms.

So that's why it's better to change the oil early to avoid the metal partials going back in the engine
Errr... if the particles were large enough to be seen in plain sight in the oil, they would have scarred your engine by now. So I sincerely hope you were just exaggerating it a tiny bit.

Whats there to panic??? You worried about synthetic or the grade?? Both of them are fine, ktm uses FS by default

Please read my previous post. It might give you an idea of why mineral oil is recommended. It for sure won't cause your engine to explode. If you plan to stick to the manufacturer's recommendations all the way, Motul 7100 is not a bad oil.

My 390`s owner manual and online version say it as O-Ring chain. The website might probably is updated with European specs.

It should not be any problem. This grade and synthetic oil is recommended as per owners manual too.

I was worried about the oil being synthetic. Well people told me to avoid synthetic oil before 1000-2000km hence the panic.
