Attributing all delays to a strike is also not the correct thing to do. You might not be knowing the real reason behind it!!

The truth is that even KTM officials in India do not know when the bike will be delivered in India, let alone dealers.

Only Mr. Bajaj knows that. And he is absolutely right to make as much money as he can on exporting not only KTMs but Bajaj bikes also to improve the bottom line of the company. And even if it is at the cost of loosing few sales in domestic market then so be it.

To all the people *****ing non stop about the deliveries... I hope you guys know about the Strike at the Chakan plant... That is where the 390 was to be primarily assembled... Although they have got in temporary workers they are not assembling the Duke... For obvious reasons... The production in that plant is running at 25% capacity...

And it was mentioned at launch that the deliveries will start at end of September... They said 90 days... So June end + 90 days (3 months) = September end (July + August + September)

No offence but you joined the party a bit late. The strike at Chakan ended about 10 days ago and the production is in full swing.

I agree with you on the delivery part though. There is still 5 weeks remaining for the 90 day waiting period to end so yeah we have to wait ...........

Guys who have booked the 390 (and are aiming their frustration towards each other, let me add some spice to this), Did you notice that the booking letter which we got states the delivery period as a minimum 90 days. Bajaj has been freakishly clever in wording it. You've been trolled.

P.S. - Not trying to rub salt to your wounds. I booked mine in June. We are in the same boat ya'll.

IMHO, I think we're using the wrong thread here.

All arguments, debates, bickering and brawls on generic topics about deliveries, Powerparts, mods, buying advice can be done on the other Long term review thread.

This is Atul's ownership thread (atleast till other owners dont join in) for now and all disussion should pertain to that experience only.
Let's draw a line because right now both these threads resemble the decorum in Parliament!

ID:	1855504[/MENTION] hope this answers your question. After 200 kilometers of riding on full tank, the reserve light went on when I filled it up after another 10 km or so it drank around 9 litres. So roughly that puts the range at 250 which if I am touring, I can live with.

I loved the breaks on this one, must confess that this is my first ABS bike so like all wannabes, I tried locking the rear wheel by pressing on the pedal at a speed of 60 and grinned to see the bike come to a straight spot. ABS is something that is here to stay and I am happy to jump on the band wagon. There is an unmarked switch on the instrument panel that the stunters amongst us can press to switch off the ABS but every time you restart the bike, it will come back on. Which I think is a great thing, because I am sure some of us will forget to switch it back on. Full marks to the brakes.

Overall comfort is just quite ok, I am getting used to the turned leg upright stance, with no wind protection, the wind is all the time on the chest. What is worse that there is no room to tuck in If you want to go for that speed run. With the wide handle bars and small compact seat I just couldnot push the bum back enough to be in the tuck. This can also be an issue in longer rides, when you want to shift on the saddle to ease up and keep the circulation going. But this is not something that a little customisation can not sort out.

I was sitting at home during a power cut this afternoon cursing my luck for having to wait so long to get the Duke390. Today is a perfect day to go out on a ride - I was stuck at home. I started playing with my phones calculator and began wondering if I could afford the Ninja650R. I spent about 30min making calculations - EMI, non EMI - trying to find out how long its delivery would take etc and wondering if I should ditch the 390 altogether.

And then - @atul_chang Fantastic report - read it thrice and will probably show it off multiple times this week. I liked the ride plan - the rain added to the drama. Excellent pictures despite the rain and a good ending. I would love to catch up with you if I ride to Mumbai sometime on my future 390 and stare at your Ducati
Nope, I am not going to cheat on the 390, I will wait
