the day was 14 of august 2000...
it was the day when FIERO was launched in INDORE...
i was happy like anything to get my new bike....

at that time all the mag (auto india etc) crowned it the best 150cc engined bike this country has ever produced....

i did the running in period with all the care and then all i did was to ride her with full throttle....

no bike still comes close to the sheer loudness of the exhaust nore of her...
her speedo used to act as a tacho for me...
as i used to upshift when the speedo refused to move further in the gears.....

            1.gear-45
            2.65
            3.90
            4.110

            all speedo indicated...

i still miss the madness of the fiero as her light front always made it impossible to launch it without a wheelie off the line....

tht used to happen while shiftin from first to second under hard acceleration too....

my bike did 28000kms and i sold it for 25 grand in oct 2008...
all i did in maintainance issues was a battery and clutch plate change....

it was and is an amazin bike...

here's a pic of my bike.....

True. The front would feel hopelessly light under a hard launch on a stock bike itself. It used to be a task for me to keep those 20odd horses in check under a hard launch. I used to shed all my weight front to get a launch. Later did the first swing arm mod (back in 2003 when none had tried such stuffs) to a longer one, stiffer suspension etc etc.
Missing my Fiero. Just waiting to clear some work and then start the rebuild on my Fiero 200.

                  Friends,
I have a Nov 2002 Fiero & clocked almost 88k kms.I have done engine work like new valves, piston, piston rings, block.I have also changed the stock headlamp with a FX headlamp to get more brighter output.Ohh yes before I forget,I have also installed a 5amp battery to take the load of an aux lamp.Rest everything is kept stock.Off lately I have noticed that the bike does not pull up properly meaning there is loss of power. Can you please suggest what could be the reason behind this.
Also can I upgrade my current stock CDI to that of an apache. If yes will it be a direct fit or do i need to modify something.

                  Seeking your advice.

                  Thanking in advance

                  Vishal

i can imagine sir how those 20 bhp will make it one beast of a bike.....

will wait for ur updates on rebuilding..........

Suzuki Fiero - My first motorcycle. Bought on 6th June 2000. Recently completed 1.24L km's during the 3rd visit to Ladakh, thanks to 4 other bikes the running has come down on this one.

A small article I wrote about the bike (changes made to it included), in 2006.
                      2000 Suzuki Fiero | 2004 Bullet Electra | 2004 RX135 | 2005 CBZ | 2009 Karizma | 2009 Punto 1.4 Petrol | 2011 Yamaha YZF-R15

                      Nav is back !!!
                      Getting Leh'ed. Since 2007...

@All: Has anyone installed a 12V, 2.5A sealed maintenance free battery onto their Fieros?

Also, what would be the tasks involved in getting the kick start changed to button start?
I know that it needs a battery of 5 amps, next wiring change, installing starter motor, what else?
What would be the total cost of all this including battery change?
                        Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Cosmetic per se, the bike has taken some beating, specially after having to be shipped via courier 6 times till now. On road performance is good, not as good as new but still eager for another Ladakh trip.

Any particular reason for the 9Amp battery? I too am planning for a bigger battery, coz the RTR ignition and CDI sucks all the battery power.
