Nano has explained very well.I'd ask you to do the same.Which is :-

    1. Get the front disc brake(It's a must)
    Options:
    a. Pulsar disc brake set up with the classic pulsar right fork-leg.This needs, hub, adapter and CBZ classic worm or splendor worm. With the rest of the disc brake parts coming from the existing pulsar range. If you go for alloys then the hub and adapter wont be needed.

    b. Honda unicorn first gen disc brake set up.(spokes)

    c. Pricol units of CBZ classic ,or of the Yamaha RXZ.

    d. The Fiero F2 hub, adapter(If you want use spokes that is) with the RTR160/180 petal disc brake set up.With suzuki Zeus speedo worm.

My advise would be to keep the spokes set-up ,as it is stronger and cheaper to maintain than the alloys.Aesthetically too the spokes set-up looks better on current air-cooled engine bikes.

Pulsar parts are cheap and easily available and it has a disc rotor which is 1mm thicker than that of the F2/Pricol ones.

As i told you guys earlier that my bike was drinking oil, i got almost all of my gaskets changed, even got the oil seal of the GB sprocket changed.
Still my bike has either drained or drank almost 900 ml of oil in say 1000 kms of running ????

This worries me a bit, even after changing the sprocket oil seal i can still see drops of oil if i park my bike on the side stand...

This is an issue, i don't know what to do about it.

      any recommendations ???

+1. psr is right-oily deposits on the plug not a good sign bro. Check if the bike is giving out white smoke then the piston rings are gone.
However this much of oil drinking means the bore is mostly damaged. My guess is due to running on too less oil qty.

But on checking everything it was perfect.
This was the same time when the head work was done.
He even checked the bore, as well as the rings, as he had to disassemble it and re assemble everything back.
He did check everything and gave a thumbs up.

So is it that he did a mistake in putting things back together ?

He and I are too busy to find time, and I am falling short of vitamin M.

I even talked about the clutch issue, he was against me going for the Japan made clutch plates, as he said sourcing takes a lot of time, and its not guaranteed that you'll get a right product.
He had an experience of one order where even the newer plates (Japanese ones so to say) didn't last much longer similar to my issue, and one experience was such that the plates i am using now OEM (190 bucks) did last very very long.
He was saying that tighter springs will be a much easier option.
Are you sure OEM plates are only 190 bucks? I think they are around 675 bucks for F2.
Also, what are those springs&how much do they cost?

I have been checking for so long but this lull was really long, was keen to know, what happened to nano's bike, I think he is busy with his exams and deficiency of vitamin M is still there. Chief is also out of action for so many days so I break this silence and tell you about my restoration work
Engine work complete with timing chain, rocker, crank, head reboring, piston(usha) could not get another brand and none was available with TVS ass( I prefer to call them), could not get carb from them so got bajaj pulsars carb, new fuel tank (blue), new side panels(blue), new TPFC(silver) have ordered blue one though, new mudguard front and plastic one complete for rear, new headlight fixture (complete), new wire hang (minda), new regulator from TVS, FZ handle bars as suggested by Gixx and bike feels completely new, both sirac street tyres, new backlight, new leg-guard. silencer and both the rims were sent for chrome and truing but rims are rusted so have to change them now after monsoon, new set of wheel spokes for both tyres both drums, breakshoes, new lock set, new meter console of pricol, meter gears and wires of clutch and accelerator, choke, break and clutch levers, new switches on both sides of handle, cone set, rear shockers of Gabriel from TVS, new battery, front shocker were straightened and repaired and refilled with oil,
now the report after 1400 kms on odo, it lacks power after 2nd gear it seems there is problem with carb tuning and TVS ass here in Rishikesh does not have CO machine so had talk with Dehradun TVS ass, will take bike to Dehradun TVS. other problem is of fuel gauze, in the morning when bike is switched on the fuel meter shows tank half reading irrespective of fuel in tank but as soon as bike is kick started the meter goes nil and it come to half sometimes in between the ride but most of time it is nil. so advise is needed. I have ordered complete Magneto assembly as I feel the light during night driving is very dim as I have new fixtures with good bulb in it.
above all, I have bought new Bolero SLX too but restoration of Fiero and riding it gave me more pleasure than new Bolero
Congrats bro! That's a complete restoration! If you don't mind, may I ask how much you have spent?

I was advised by my mech. also to change the magnet assembly, but a simple 2-300 buck rewinding did the trick. Bike has no electrical problems now.
Also get the fuses checked-as they are old, a few might have melted. 4 out of 6-7 were melted in my case.

I also feel the same. Easier to repair in case of bends.
If you had asked us this before going for the tyres, I would have told you to get tubeless tyres also if you were too keen on alloys.
It pains me to see roadside mechs damaging/bending alloys while they repair punctures in tube type tyres!
As for the fuel gauge, I beg to differ with gixxer-there is no sensor. The fuel float has gone for a toss I feel. Mine was also not working, got it replaced for some 300 bucks. Looks like a ball with a rod-like we see in water tanks.

@gixxer_junkie_m: Can you post the pic of my sparkplug here please? It is a 12K kms. old NGK Iridium for others info. Running super lean acc.to our expert gixxer!

Update: @All: Since I couldn't get vitamin M for the various part replacement that my bike needs, I have just changed the engine oil. Have tried Motul 3000 4T Plus 20w40 this time. I couldn't get Gulf Pride, but it will be done next time. Bike ran on TVS tru4 Premium 10w30 last time, lost about 300 ml. of oil in 3K kms. as usual. Some 100ml. may have leaked out when the casing was removed for stator coil rewinding. Spark plug pic shows that engine is not drinking oil as per gixxer.
In the meanwhile, by the time this oil is used up, I am going to get the shocker work done-new oil seals, tubes (they have scoring marks on them), springs, and coneset if needed.
Lengthy discussions with Abhi&Anand (gixxer) about the next service. Will keep updating with pics as I have a cam now.
      Cheers to all, Fiero rocks!

        Yes,
oem one's do cost 198 bucks only (that was like almost a year ago) and pressure plates another 235 bucks or something.

The springs are the clutch springs, the one which holds all the clutch plates as well as the pressure plates together.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

Alright, thanks for the info. If that is the cost, I don't mind changing them as well. What is the price of the springs?
If I change the clutch plates+pressure plates+springs, will that get rid of my jerking problem in initial gears?
              Also,
Do you know the price of the following spares?
              1. Fork tubes (inner) set
              2. Fork springs
              3. Oil seals are around 290 for set I believe, please confirm
              4. Switches are around Rs.900
              5. Camchain is some 800, what about tensioner&guide cost?
              6. Wheel bearings front&rear
              7. Chain sprocket
              8. Engine guard
              9. Front mudguard
              10. Disc pads are some 290 bucks again.

Sorry for the long list, but the bike needs a lot of replacements&I'm planning them in 2 phases-this month&next.

Sorry bro, I will get it tuned asap. If there is no CO machine available, you need to tell me how many turns&in which direction!
If you are telling me it is very easy, just guide me over phone-I'll do it this evening itself!

Try turning the A/F screw anti-clockwise half a turn at a time and then ride the way you use it.As you don't take her on highway much, the plug should turn dark when ridden inside the city limits in stop and go traffic.

You bet!! girls/women are starving themselves!! and the once famous curves/femininity of indian women is getting lost!!The juicy wide hipped curves are getting rarer and rarer by the day! They should start a campaign to bring back the curves on our women once again!! Just like the bikes of yester years in comparison to the current anemic lot!!

Glad you are realistic and didn't ask for dark brown tip. which would have made the mix very rich and a hole in your pocket.
You should screw AFR out by one turn and observe plug after 200 kms ride.
