  • OMG, they are available at the TVS spare part dealer for sure.
I don't visit any authorized TVS SVC as these guys will kill themselves after seeing my bike.
I source parts and go to the mech and get them replaced.

Well, i don't mind doing that, let me get over with my exams and I'll visit that place and get you guys some brake pads.

    @ sarvajit

On the contrary, the clutch slippage happens when bike is revved rather than lower speeds, however i guess this might be something else.
Or maybe a same problem experienced at different level.

Whatever it is though, i guess i maybe able to explain it in a simplified way.

Imagine that your riding at 4th gear around the speed of 50, you hold the clutch and down-shift to the second gear directly and leave the clutch suddenly, now two things happen.
    1. the bike suddenly jerks and the the rear wheel almost locks up due to the 2nd gear put up suddenly (inturn things slow down with a jerk)
    2. the engine revvs increase as you have suddenly used a different lower gear, and gradually the revvs come down.

Now the slippage problem actually is, that the point no 1. does not happen with a JERK.
Its just makes terrible revving noise, but no jerking or wheel lock happens as the clutch isn't powerful enough to hold the rear wheel's kinetic energy.
But yes, the thing does slow down gradually, so this avoidance of jerk can be interpreted in a way that the bike automatically tries to hold a (little bit of) clutch at these sudden moments.

Same is the case with acceleration, if you tend to wheelie, the bike will hold the clutch for you and avoid it to happen.
    This slippage causes all this.

Its like a technology or traction control and anti engine braking that i am experiencing free of cost.

There isn't any rubbing noise or something, i guess gix is right, it might be a clutch bearing issue in your case.

ignore the dog clutch issue, its something else as i mentioned before its to do with the khatt sound while engaging the gear, and it isn't a clutch part, but a unit or a component of a gearbox, its also termed as dog gear in some areas, if you still wish to know, see this...

Besides, the clutch kit contains th clutch bell, the clutch springs, the friction (clutch) and pressure plates, and bearing to hold everything together and rotate it.
    That's it i guess.

The metal plates of classic fiero and fiero F2 are the same, made in japan.
    Will fit definitely.
    Comes with in by stock.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

    • Thanks for the explanation. The symptom in my case is not like what you described at all.
Mine is like a rubbing noise coming from the gearbox in 2nd gear at low speeds. I also feel it is the bearing.
Thanks for mentioning the parts in the clutch kit-any idea how much it will cost if I get the entire kit replaced?

A lay shaft bearing is common to all gears,so if it is the bearing you will hear it in all gears...I think it is the gear shifter fork ,or the gear itself which is worn..

Yes Sir, the sound is there in all gears, but evident at lower speeds.
What do you think it could be?
I need best possible suggestions as I'm planning to bring this bike back into shape.

If the sound is there in all gears then it must be the lay shaft bearing..need to change it to solve it..only by splitting the crankcase can it be done.

Got a pair of disc pads so grabbed them&got it fixed.
I have postponed the service/parts replacement to end of the month so that I can push the amount to next month card cycle.
In the meanwhile, Anand&Abhi have contacted a few shops for genuine fork inner tubes&springs-they will be sending it to me sometime next month 1st week mostly.
                I will keep you updated.

But he says that if i really want it he would source it in a week.
Too much of pain on the pocket, i would rather buy a ktm 200's inverted fork set with disk and stuff with this money, another 2000 would settle me down with the rims too (all from junk though).
Besides in my recent visit to a junkyard, i saw amazing product range of ktm 200, the wheels, disk, tyre, fork set, fuel tank, headlamp, everything is available, and this bike hasn't even launched yet....
                    ..
Hey NANO wer is this junk yard ....i m intrested in visiting the place soon and buy some drool maal for my ride waiting for a PM from u....

Thanks for the wishes Sir. This time I'm determined (will produce money&spares from anywhere)&will do everything it takes to get the bike back into form again!

Well about the oil cooler A few ideas are bouncing around and yet to make up my mind about the best way of fitting it.
The thing is Mr Venugopal is suggesting that the output of the oil cooler be given to the oil filter area which can be seen. Then he's suggesting that the inlet hole from which the oil gets into the oil-filter be blocked. That is,the stock oil circuit will be blocked at oil filter itself and the oil cooler will become a integral part of the primary oil circuit to the head.I am in a dilemma because i want to keep the stock oil circuit as it is and make the oil cooler as a secondary unit.Which will be safer in case some damage happens to the oil cooler,or if it blocks up,then at least oil supply will continue with the stock circuit.
So basically everything's ready if it's to be done my way, otherwise it needs a small tapping and blocking the oil inlet to the filter from the crank if Mr Venugopal's way is to be done.
Life begins, once you hit the power band !!

Yes very true regarding the inherent safety part..one cannot be too cautious when it comes to oil circulation...I guess it is better to drop the oil cooler idea because you should also increase the oil pump pressure for the increased volume and pumping required to circulate oil through the oil cooler...The RTR180 oil pump puts out 1.2 liter oil per minute and is vastly improved over your stock pump....Just give it thought.

                          • front sprocket of Fiero F2

                            1. Can anybody confirm if the Fiero F2's front sprocket has 14T ??
                            2. If so what is the price??
                            3. Will I be able to purchase the front sprocket alone and not the entire chain sprocket set??
                            4. Is it advisable to go for 14T instead of 13T on the Apache 150 to achieve taller gearing and is the Fiero F2's front sprocket a direct fit??

                            Kindly answer my queries.thanks.
