I don't visit any authorized TVS SVC as these guys will kill themselves after seeing my bike.
I source parts and go to the mech and get them replaced.
Well, i don't mind doing that, let me get over with my exams and I'll visit that place and get you guys some brake pads.
@ sarvajit
On the contrary, the clutch slippage happens when bike is revved rather than lower speeds, however i guess this might be something else.
Or maybe a same problem experienced at different level.
Whatever it is though, i guess i maybe able to explain it in a simplified way.
Imagine that your riding at 4th gear around the speed of 50, you hold the clutch and down-shift to the second gear directly and leave the clutch suddenly, now two things happen.
- the bike suddenly jerks and the the rear wheel almost locks up due to the 2nd gear put up suddenly (inturn things slow down with a jerk)
- the engine revvs increase as you have suddenly used a different lower gear, and gradually the revvs come down.
Now the slippage problem actually is, that the point no 1. does not happen with a JERK.
Its just makes terrible revving noise, but no jerking or wheel lock happens as the clutch isn't powerful enough to hold the rear wheel's kinetic energy.
But yes, the thing does slow down gradually, so this avoidance of jerk can be interpreted in a way that the bike automatically tries to hold a (little bit of) clutch at these sudden moments.
Same is the case with acceleration, if you tend to wheelie, the bike will hold the clutch for you and avoid it to happen.
This slippage causes all this.
Its like a technology or traction control and anti engine braking that i am experiencing free of cost.
There isn't any rubbing noise or something, i guess gix is right, it might be a clutch bearing issue in your case.
ignore the dog clutch issue, its something else as i mentioned before its to do with the khatt sound while engaging the gear, and it isn't a clutch part, but a unit or a component of a gearbox, its also termed as dog gear in some areas, if you still wish to know, see this...
Besides, the clutch kit contains th clutch bell, the clutch springs, the friction (clutch) and pressure plates, and bearing to hold everything together and rotate it.
That's it i guess.
The metal plates of classic fiero and fiero F2 are the same, made in japan.
Will fit definitely.
