ABS sorely missed on this machine. So is slipper clutch. But addition of these two much expected features may push the price even further. Already its clearly in overpriced territory, Although its quite understandable that why Yamaha wont be able to push the price down unless they localize production.

That's the catch 22. Volume is dependent on price and price is dependent on volume. Unfortunately this tussle between the 2 is keeping us away from these safety features. I feel they should first address the tyres on it before anything else.

Very true, ABS cannot be skipped any longer on this high priced 300cc bike, especially when Pulsar 400 @ 1.5 lacs has ABS as an option!
I know both the bikes cannot be compared, but features & price wise, ABS is must have now.
What Yamaha can do is localize parts as much as possible, only this can help to control & even reduce the price tag which many feel is overpriced at the moment.
They need to invest if they want to make $$$ in the growing 300cc segment.

I think we cannot apply the 'Over priced' term for imported bikes.

Sorry, but I beg to differ. While its true that for Yamaha sales numbers here wont make sense to produce it locally. However, that is Yamahas problem. As a customer you always compare it with competitors on various aspects. Wether they sell it via import route or local route is not customers concern while paying the money. That makes it vulnerable to the overpriced tag. For many it may not be overpriced as the perspective differs based on parameters/aspects individuals find important. But being imported cannot be an aspect when we are talking about a machine of this class. But if you are talking about 500cc plus category we could skip the overpriced comparison as all worthy contenders are imported.
