Why?

I mean, its not a bad bike. Heck I'd buy it if I had the money, but you have had a Duke 390, a Ninja 300 and now a Ninja 650.

The R3 is just like the N300. Why'd you even sell the N300.

I have no idea how much you lost on that sale, but you're literally throwing money away.

Mine slots in like butter. Could you check if the clutch action is proper? I do hear a loud clunk now and then while i downshift to use engine braking and this is probably is due to the chain tension.

The upshifts are butter smooth for me. The higher RPM you are at the sweeter is the shift. The gearbox is seamless!

I booked R3
The bike is ready to be delivered but I am waiting for 2016 to get 2016 registration and get the bike on my Birthday.

A small update on the 'khat' sound you here when you compress the front forks while holding the front brake.
The sound is coming from the 'floating disc' (a technology that is used in the R1). If you compress the forks without holding the discs you will not hear the sound.

How do you solve this? No idea till now but am working on it.

First Service update :

Got the bike serviced at Monarch Yamaha Tilak Road (bought it from there itself). Servicing done at 1032 kms.

Total first service bill : 1747/-

Coolant top up - 60/- (Was doubtful about why this was charged. The coolant level should not go down in a month. My Duke did not need a coolant top up for 20k kms)
Engine oil - 900/-(They said they charged for 2 liters but put 2.1 liters as per manual. Not sure about this too)
Oil filter - 360/-(As per MRP)
Bike health card - 55/- Really strange addition to bill. Apparently it is a mandatory procedure to be followed for R3. Some diagnostic tool is connected to the system to check for various parameters of the bike. A printout is generated for which I was charged 55 bucks.
Labor charges - 100/- This was what hey charged me for fitting the frame sliders. Some dealerships gave this free of cost to one fellow R3 owner. No such luck here.
Chain lube - 250/- Other dealerships charge 140-150 bucks. This one charged me 250 :\

Took up these extra charges issue with Yamaha India customer care and surprisingly they said everything is justified. Will look to a different dealership next time for the second service.

The bike returned 22.45 kmpl in 100% city riding before first service. Expecting it to improve a bit now.

It used to touch 115-116 at 7k rpm in 6th gear. Today I opened it up on an open stretch and was pleasantly surprised to see a figure of 135 on the speedo with the rpm needle still below 8.5k. This bike is a silent monster that masks it speed brilliantly!

They seem to give the best rate for the R12 sliders.But still I am looking for a cheaper alternative. This one is too expensive for me.

There are cheaper options on aliexpress. You can get in touch with [MENTION=13846]Sarvajit[/MENTION] for details.

But reliability of those options is at best debatable. I went with puig because it is renowned globally in this field. If you have zero dep full insurance then you can skip sliders part totally.
