Re: Suzuki Fiero 150 BS Mikuni carburetor to Apache RTR 200
Very interesting mod, great to see. What was the thought process, were you sure that the new carb would give you positive results? Or was it an experiment?Originally posted by dhirajladi View PostHello friends,
Here is my second DIY after ABS retrofitment on RTR 200. Now I installed original Mikuni make CV type carburetor on RTR 200 with some jet modification.
With Mikuni, engine is running very smooth, low end torque improved and idle speed can brought down to 950rpm. Idle circuit suites very well.
Overall harshness reduced and idle is more stable compare to stock carburetor.
Reason for big smile is fuel economy improved from 34kmpl to 40kmpl.
Mikuni seems quite a popular brand with lot of documentation and guides online.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Had a query guys. I had given my bike to a friend and that asshole revved up the bike till 97. The bike has done 820 kms and the first servicing was done at 700kms. Will it impact the bike's performance in the long run? He revved the bike after the service was done.Last edited by Manash Roy; 10-09-2017, 11:21 PM.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Haven't found one. Tried looking at a lot of them on aliexpress but since I am not sure if its going to be a straight fit I always backed off.Originally posted by stoneshwar View PostHas anyone found aftermarket clutch and brake levers for Apache 200? I am looking for something shorter w/ adjustable reach.
One idea that I got from youtube videos was to try the 2017 duke 390 adjustable levers and see if they are a straight fit and then buy it. But I haven't got around to doing it yet. Let us know if you find something.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
I am planning to remove my Tyre Hugger (not a fan of it) from the Apache 200 and try to fit the Rear fender flap. Does any of you have Rear fender Flap fitted with your Apache 200 (which came with the initial version of Apache when it was launched). Need some pictures of it, so that i can start fitting on myself. I tried to fit myself, there were three screw holes, but when i bought the Rear fender flap from SVC, it doesn't have any screws, i am not sure, which screws can fit in. Please guide me.

gear sensor in rtr 200 is a hit and miss thing. show it to svc, may be they will rectify it.
my bike's gear sensor was attended during last service, was without problem for about 2k km, now it have started showing erratic figures.
Thanks Anand1983, I had thought the heating was due to my RTR's oil level is very LOW, checked it.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Got caught in pretty heavy rains and about 7-8km into the commute, the bike starting acting weird. Throttle response totally out of whack, losing power as soon as I cross 5k RPM. Bike kept stalling, very unpredictable behaviour, had to ride the remaining 8km on 1st or 2nd gear and even then it would randomly stall.
Went to TVS SVC which is close to my place and they said it is b/c of water in electricals but TBH it looks like a fueling issue to me. Is there anyway of telling if there's water in the carb?
It did get marginally better in dry conditions but still does not behave normally.

Water may be seeped inside tank. It happens sometimes in rain.Originally posted by stoneshwar View PostGot caught in pretty heavy rains and about 7-8km into the commute, the bike starting acting weird. Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
I'm also facing this essue. I figured that the water is leaking in fuel tank from the cap of the tank. The service centre is not near from me therefore I haven't resolved this problem yet. Anyone has suggestions for the petrol tank cap, is it need to be replaced or some packing will help? Let me know...Originally posted by stoneshwar View PostGot caught in pretty heavy rains and about 7-8km into the commute, the bike starting acting weird. Mine started behaving properly the next day. I dunno what the issue is, if it was petrol in tank, then it should not have fixed itself 🤔Originally posted by Pdajmere View PostI'm also facing this essue. Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Guys,
My six month old apache 200 is in Bangalore and unused since September 1st week. I had to leave town for an important matter. I will only be returning next month.
Will there be any issues to start and use the bike after a long period of inactivity?
