Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Another Issue I came across when booking the bike was that the test ride vehicle took a lot of time to start inspite of pulling the choke. The vehicle looked a little used, though forgot to check the odo. Do current owners face any starting issues?. Pulling the choke in the morning should be sufficient for a cold start right?. Has anyone been stranded so far because the bike refused to start?.

Don't worry... There are no starting issues... My bike Starts at one Crank only!!.. may be the test bike is not kept in a good condition!!...Originally posted by Joe29 View PostAnother Issue I came across when booking the bike was that the test ride vehicle took a lot of time to start inspite of pulling the choke. No such issue once you cross 500 kms on the odo.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostAnother Issue I came across when booking the bike was that the test ride vehicle took a lot of time to start inspite of pulling the choke. Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I also needed advice regarding break in. I will have to ride 140 Kms to my hometown to get the bike registered and the same distance back to my work place. 100 kms of highway with good roads where we can maintain constant speeds. So how should I vary the rpms in those stretches so that I have a good break in. I know its not advisable to go for a long journey right in the beginning but I don't want to register the vehicle with a temporary local address with RTO here when I have an RTO and permanent address just 140 Kms away. All sorts of advice's and tips are appreciated. And I pray I have enough self control to keep the vehicle within 50 Kmph during these times
.

Firstly there's no harm in registering where you stay, you need not go 140km just for registration.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostI also needed advice regarding break in. But anyway it's your personal choice.
Coming to what you asked,
Yes, please vary the Rpm and speeds, do not cross the specified rpm limits and speeds depending on the gear. And do not forget your safety gears.
ATGATT!
Ride smoothly, do not accelerate too quickly. I believe you haven't ridden it over 500km yet so short speed bursts too are NOT recommended.
Give rest to your engine for half an hour or so after about half the distance(roughly 70km of your 140km). You don't want to overheat your baby.
Drive carefully as the vehicle is new ergo you aren't (probably) used to handle it.
Have a safe and enjoyable trip!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Exactly, I hate that. Every time I park the bike I have to put a stone underneath the stand to ensure that the bike doesn't topple over. Anything that we can do to solve it? TVS should have provided the bike with a better stand. I can't even describe how much I hate the stand.Originally posted by stoneshwar View PostThe side stand is becoming my biggest gripe - it is really low - and if the surface is slightly soft or uneven the bike has to be put on centre stand.

This was posted by user shankeyducati in August in this same thread. I saw this attachment only on one bike. Have to check the manufacturing dates of all the bikes before I pick one. I think this showroom has quite a lot of old stock.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hey guys, I bought my 200 last week & have ridden almost 150 km. I tried to maintain the speed not more than 60-65 kmph as recommended.
So, as obvious it is, I was curious to find out the milage I could get, so I tried calculating it at 120 kms. My tank had 1 lit from the dealer & I put another 2 lits approx. So as per this, my mileage was about 40 kmpl.
I was wondering if anyone else got this figure because almost everywhere I read, they said they could hardly get 35-38 kmpl. Or is this a "New Bike" kind of thing? Will it decrease as the usage increases?
Anyways, here is my Devil in Red:

Congrats!!.. Wish you many happy miles ahead. Even I booked a matte red and hoping to get my hands on one soon. I just wanted to know if you have those flap like extensions on your front forks which I have posted right before your post. I saw that only on one of the bikes the showroom had and wondering if it comes with the current batches.Originally posted by dark_enforcer View PostHey guys, I bought my 200 last week & have ridden almost 150 km. Actually no, I don't see the flaps you mentioned on my bike. Maybe it was only for the test-ride bike. I think it may be a barrier to avoid dirt into the suspension cylinder. But I could be wrong.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostCongrats!!.. Wish you many happy miles ahead. Even I booked a matte red and hoping to get my hands on one soon. Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I face cold start issues. The bike doesn't strart without choke. But it starts as soon as I pull the choke. I faced another issue. Whenever the bike stops due to low race, I can't start it again instantly. First i need to press engine kill switch nd then again set it to on. Then only the self start worksOriginally posted by Joe29 View PostAnother Issue I came across when booking the bike was that the test ride vehicle took a lot of time to start inspite of pulling the choke.
