I would go ahead and get the carburetor jets thoroughly cleaned. the jerkiness could be due to something blocking the jets.
Since you are facing this issue above 4k rpm, I am inclined to think that the main jet is clogged.
Fuel quality is another cause of such jerkiness, so if you have recently changed the outlet from where you refuel - that could be another reason.

Hello everyone, I am in the market to get a new bike and I have been keen on getting the Apache RTR200V with ABS. I just have a couple questions if you folk can give me some answers that would be great help in deciding on this. I need to know about the pillion comfort of the bike as this is my primary requirement, I had bought a used NS200 sometime back but the gf isn't happy with the comfort on it. Can you guys comment on the seats softness and the rear suspension setup of the bike individually. Some of the reviews on YT state that theres some rusting issue on the bike along with vibrations above the 6k rpm region. Thanks in advance

Pillion comfort is ok for shorter rides but not comfortable for long rides. Moreover the company fitted saree guard do not have footrest making it difficult for ladies wearing sarees to sit sideways and place both their legs on the footrest as there is no footrest. The rider seat is the best in class with the right amount of cushioning and you will not feel any discomfort in the butt. The rear suspension is ideally tuned. Its neither stiff nor soft. There is a mild buzz post 6k rpm but it is not unbearable and irritating. But the vibrations are zero when compared to older gen apaches. Take a test ride along with your gf as pillion and decide.

Thank you for such a prompt response. So what I got from you is the rear suspension is good at taking in bumps and potholes but the pillion seat isnt as good. Is this cause of the cushioning or the size and shape of the seat?

It is due to the shape and size of the seat. After 45 minutes on the pillion seat, I had to get down and give my rear some rest before getting onto the pillion seat again. I'm a bit on the heavier side though.

Take a test ride of the bike to know for sure.

I've heard that the FZ25 has better pillion comfort.

You may also try the RTR 160 4v. It is unlike any 160 cc out there and can give serious competition to a 200 cc. In city, you'll find practically no difference between the 160 4v and the 200 4v. There are people who swear that the 160 4v performs as good as the 200 4v and also handles better.

The fz25 pillion is definitely not comfortable for all. The wife was not happy with it and the option had to be stricken off.

                Need Help guys...

My RTR200 4V handlebar is shaking while riding at speeds between 40 - 60 kmph. post that either shaking or wobbling is not there.
Will be visiting ASC next week for the periodical service - 25000 km's.

Bike has met in a minor accident 3 months back and was serviced after the accident with complaint on the same. It was rectified but now the same problem has occurred.

My office colleagues have suggested vehicle 'STAY' should have moved.

Sorry responding a bit late since real life can get hectic, so if the culprit is the size and shape of the seat then maybe some modding can be done, maybe the seat from rtr160 v can be somehow fit on the 200. That will kill the looks of the 200 though. TH reason why I am going for the 200v is that I wish to tour on this bike so will need as much power I can get for highway cruising. I have heard this from a lot of people that the FZ25 has an extremey stiff setup for the pillion.

The seat of the 160 4v cannot be fitted on the 200 4v without any major mods. Both have different bodywork, different locking mechanism for seat and possibly a different chassis itself. So a seat change is not going to be an easy mod to say the least. Though the 160 4v and 200 4v look similar, most parts are not interchangable.

I'd strongly advise you to take a test ride of the 160 4v. It is unlike any other 160cc out there. For touring purposes, it can cruise at 80-90kmph with 2 people on board (both 70kg+). So, do take a test ride.

Many people suggested the duke 200 or Pulsar NS 200 over RTR 200, I have ridden the duke as well as pulsars but let me give you my review of bike after 10 days and 500 kms of running. Dukes and pulsars are no doubt powerful than the apache but they start vibrating after 120 and the ride quality is ****ed up. There is a very negligible difference between the power figures when compared to both. The handling and build quality of the apache and the features are far more better than the duke or NS200. I am more of a cruiser then a drag racer, but the mid-end power is fully amazing and it can cut corners like a piece of cake. Its a race machine meant for circuit racing laps, not drags.

Pros: No vibrations after 120+ (buttery smooth), Gear indicator, Slipper clutch, ABS, Ride quality is very smooth, Exhaust note (Its addictive).

Cons: No 6th gear, Lacks High end torque, Tires could be more better... I am changing to Pirelli soon after 20k Kms.
I have enjoyed every single kilometer I have ridden on it & after 400+ kms of running I have only 3 Issues with the bike.
1.) There is a clunking(click) sound in the front suspension whenever I apply hard brakes and when I ride over a fat ass pothole. (That can be fixed and not much of a concern I guess but still the service center guys said they will fix it free of cost )
2.) Timing chain sometimes make noise but very little and barely noticeable.
3.) The rear main chain gets loose very fast.

Any of you guys had the same problem ? Please help me guys...

But its a value for money bike and better if you want good power and average for daily commuting...
Its a beast & the best apache in 200cc segment of indian motorbikes.

I have enjoyed every single km I have ridden on it.. Proud owner with zero regrets.

Congratulations Bhanu Prakash, and may I say, a fantastic choice indeed from what we've heard so far.
So, how is the experience so far? How is the performance, the grip levels, the smoothness, etc.?

And of course, please post pictures of your ride too, in the first post!

                        Hello everyone,
After long search for replacement of pulsar 150, i bought white beauty with ABS last week .

Initially planned for cruiser bike as i need to travel 35km from home to office.
Went to test drive for suzuki intruder (i did not like avenger as it does not offer any safety features like ABS which is must for me). It is good, but its bulky at the back and my wife simply rejected it. Did not go for honda hornet as there are lot of -ve feedbacks about it and yamaha does not have ABS in its fz series.
So my only options were pulsar and apache. I had pulsar for 10 yrs, thought of checking apache. Had bit of hesitant because my wife is shorter side. So took her to showroom to check. She had bit difficult to get on to the pillion seat. But after sitting on it, wife is happy with seat (softness and size). So we decided to get this beauty. Fortunately we got this bike delivered in just 4 days .

After riding for a week (300 kms), here are my thoughts.

                        1. Its definitely a head turner that too WHITE beauty is soooo gorgeous
                        2. I had few doubts over TVS tyres (past experience with friends). But remora types are very good. It has nice grip and cornering is very easy.
                        3. Handling in traffic and uneven roads are extremely good. I have so much confidence now.
                        4. Brakes are adequate for me. Had no chance to test ABS feature.
                        5. Gear shifting is butter smooth.
                        6. Exhaust bassy output is so nice at low speeds. Bu it fades away after 40 kmph.

                        Few doubts,
                        1. Hear some mild rattling sound from front when i cross 4K RPM. Is it fine?
                        2. Should i always use choke in the morning for cold stating?
                        3. Some times engine feels rough and sometimes it is very smooth. Why its like that?
                        4. during run-in period, i'm trying to stay in < 55kmph speed. But as per the manual, speed limit 50 kmph. Is it ok to maintain < 55 or should i stick to 50 only?
                        5. I'm big fan on motul engine oils. I was using 7100 10w50 on my pulsar. SVC guys told not use until free services are done.

                        Please clarify. Thanks in advance

                              1. Hear some mild rattling sound from front when i cross 4K RPM. Is it fine?

It’s not from the timing chain. It should be from the speedo console.

                              2. Should i always use choke in the morning for cold stating?

Yes in case of carburettor model. Can start without choke by not giving any throttle. But it’ll take some time to warm up. Warmup the engine a little on morning starts.

                              3. Some times engine feels rough and sometimes it is very smooth. Why its like that?

It’s because engine heats up more in a new engine. After run in it’ll be gone.

                              4. during run-in period, i'm trying to stay in < 55kmph speed. But as per the manual, speed limit 50 kmph. Is it ok to maintain < 55 or should i stick to 50 only?

Maintain the engine rpm within the 5000. And vary the engine speed while riding. That’s a good method to do the run in. In case of overtaking or any unavoidable circumstances you can go at higher speeds. But don’t stay there long.

                              5. I'm big fan on motul engine oils. I was using 7100 10w50 on my pulsar. SVC guys told not use until free services are done.

To be honest TVS tru4 synthetic oil sucks. If you worry about warranty stick with SVC guys but change the oil every 2k or 2.5k kms. It won’t last as mentioned in the manual for 5k kms. I’m using motul 300v 5w30. It’s increases top speed and acceleration but cannot last more than 2.5k kms and it’s around 1100₹. 7100 is not available in 10w30 here. So I’m going to try 5100 10w30. In my opinion don’t go with thicker oils like 10w50. Stick with 30.These engines are designed with close clearances so that it can perform smooth and well with 30 grade oil. Thicker oil can’t flow as good as 30 so you’ll feel the difference. I could feel the difference even with 300v 10w40.

Thank you [emoji1] [emoji1] . Regarding engine oil, 40/50 grade engine are good for long distance for heat handling and my trip is 35km a side. That's why I thought of 10w40/50 grade because I can feel lot of heat from engine

                                I have 2 more questions,
                                1. Sometimes engine goes off in 2nd gear
                                2. I hear knocking sound in 3rd gear at 15kmph speed, i had to bring down to 2nd gear. But on the other hand engine handles 30-35kmph speed at 5th gear which is pretty impressive
