My question is ,mostly all the reviwers mentioned about the gear shifts are butter smooth and suzuki had reworked on the gearbox.
So will this new reworked gearbox update come across all gixxer engines?
Any new gixxer sf testride or buyers please clarify on how is the gear shifts ? Is it clunky like gixxer sf or butter smooth like intruder 150 ?

Also I am confused now whether to buy sf or intruder.
I am sorry I cannot comment on that as I have not ridden the Intruder yet. I doubt anyone in this thread will be able to give you a First Impression let alone a review.

Now, its not exactly a new gearbox so to speak. Its actually the same gearbox with different gear ratios. Whether or not that makes a difference to the smoothness is yet to be seen by me.

No, the gixxers will not get the intruders gearbox because like I said, intruders gearbox has different gear ratios.

As far as Smoothness is concerned, its a subjective matter at this point of time. It really depends on what you define as smooth? You have 50% owners saying its smooth and 50% saying its not.

For me, its not smooth. Even using the best of shifting techniques I havent been able to get smooth shifts. For me I would define smoothness as Hot knife through butter but I am barely getting a sharp knife through steak smoothness.

I will be getting the TR for Intruder only around Tuesday or Wednesday at my dealership so I can provide you a review only during Next weekend.

    Till then stay tuned.

And that talk about not needing to check tyre pressure for extended periods of time. I call BS on that. Just how lazy do you have to be to not get your tyres checked during a Refuel?

I have an Indian Oil station near my house with Free air filling. Just refill air every weekend. Simple.

Ofc the best time is to go in the morning when the tyres are cold.
Exactly. I mean, if you get this so called "100% Pseudo-Nitrogen" at your bunker for Gratis its alright. Otherwise its a scam. The most hilarious of all I hear is the 'SUPERB HANDLING' and I was like ROFLMAO when I watched that video . I have heard from relatives who drive cars like the Ford Eco Sport who claim 'IMPROVED HANDLING OVER ROUGH ROADS' by filling nitrogen. Reminded me of those flying vehicles from Jetsons. Are you like drivin or flyin ?

And yes, I have that cold tyre OCD too.

Ya, coming to the Gixxer Family gearbox being hard. I have heard different opinions on this matter. As for my bike, I wouldn't call it 'butter' smooth like a Honda CB Unicorn 150. I would call the gearing of Gixxer as 'Sharp' if done properly at correct RPMs. I do a lot of clutchless upshifts these days so the experience has been 'pleasant'. The only 'teeny weeny' complain or irritation I have of the bike may be the overall feel of the clutch play <-> Gear Shifts. It feels a little I don't know, irritating may be while upshifting through a stop-n-go traffic? May be its just me feeling this given this is my first bike.

So this is basically going to be a PSA (Public Service Announcement):

Got my 6th Service done today. We currently have a MegaCamp by Suzuki for 11th and 12th. All services are free except consumable including Engine Oil.

Coming to ENgine oil. ECSTAR R9000 Fully Synthetic oil has officially been Launched in Hyderabad for an MSRP of 599. Naturally I got it filled up!
Since its Suzuki's in-house oil, its recommended for the Gixxer. Pics Below.

Rode for about 50kms, not a massive difference compared to the previous SS Idemitsu oil but the Gear shifts have become slightly smoother. Still its too early to say anything. Will ride more and see how it performs.

Oil change interval is 6-7000kms as confirmed by a Japanese representative from Suzuki.
@icarious this brings to your question, you can definitely get your filter changed as per the manual. This R9000 oil change interval makes the deal even more sweeter. You can change both the oil and filter at every 2nd service.

To answer your question in its original form, the principle is not so much about unnecessary wasting of material/product but its got to do more with maintaining the engine in its prime condition. In long term you can get a couple of 1000kms extra from your engine before its time to sell it or crush it. Atleast thats what certain perfectionists believe. This strategy is very useful if you have a rare bike or a limited edition bike say for example the Husqvurna Nuda 900R that Royal Jordanian rides.

    Another PSA:

ALso got Nitrogen filled in my tyres from a Machine that is specifically designed for this. Below are images of the machine. Unless you are filling Nitrogen from a similar looking machine, then chances are you are not getting nitrogen filled in your tyres.

I was told they are planning on bringing the Semisynthetic and Mineral oil versions of ECSTAR as well and phase out existing Idemitsu and Motul oils.

    Eye Candy:

From which service center u got that new oil??? Even I am also from hyd curious to know about that oil.
