Has anyone availed paytm offer of 5000rs cashback?
Can you please let me know where the vin is present in Gixxer and how to decode it so that I can be sure of getting the latest model?
Also as an addition info, few people, even service centers are advising to go for carb variant as they say servicing FI is complex and it is necessary to maintain atleast 3-4L of fuel if riding an FI variant? Is it true?
Yes i have availed Rs 5000 cashback as i paid the full ex showroom price via paytm.
I didn't understand by the term vin .
Yes for FI model you need to maintain atleast 1.5 or 2 L of fuel but in FI there requies no maintenance unlike the carb where it needs to be cleaned periodically.
Also during cold starts FI is really worth saving time.
Though if FI gets damaged then you need to replace it completely but carb can be repaired if damaged.
So i will suggest you to go for FI variant !!

Yes its illegal, call Suzuki customer support and report it.

Also VIN is Chassis number. It will be etched on the steering tube. Use an online decoder to find out manufacturing year. Besides manufacturing date will be present on Form 20 and 22

No need to listen to people who talk negative about FI system. They dont know what they are talking about.

Yes, you need to maintain a minimum of 3 liters so that the fuel pump doesnt run dry.

Thanks. Yes I called customer care on Friday last week but not much response except a complaint has been raised. Sent a mail yesterday which is yet to be answered. Called customer care 2 times but after talking for a minute, call doesn't get disconnected but no response from the customer care (like they have put you in mute). Really disappointed by the Suzuki customer care. Is there any other way of raising complaints. They seem to be supporting the dealers in their illegal cause.

2016 Nov I purchased Tata Tiago car and Tata customer care was so responsive and helping in any case against the dealer and the ownership experience has been so satisfying. But talking to Suzuki customer care has been disappointing .
    Whats there in a signature?

    Hey Guys,

I recently changed my spark plug, as my standard practice of changing spark plug every 10k kms.

I checked with SVC,"original" sparkplug cost me 200 INR. I checked the threads of the plug and found to be same of HH Glamour/Super splendor/Pulsar..The spark plug is "long" threaded ones.

Bought a grade 9 spark plug from after market for 90 INR only.

I have been riding the Gixxer SF FI version for the last 13 months and very happy with its fuel efficiency..I also had the carb variant (Naked variant) before that..From my experience riding them, with FI there is minimal downshifts compared to card variant.. The RPM stays healthy in lower revs & higher gears..

For the same riding style, the same road, same route to commute daily, the FI variant improved the FE by at-least 7 Kms over the naked.. I would suggest you to consider FI ABS variant.. There is no other 150cc motorcycle with ABS in 1 Lac range..

These handling charges are something dirty & cheap that every dealer is indulged in..I had brought this to Suzuki India attention & i was surprised with one of those answers by Suzuki India sales manager.. He said the dealers demanding handling charges is something not in his purview

Think the Gixxer SF FI ABS variant was rolled out last year Oct/Nov.. And it is hardly March.. So you wont be getting too old a bike.. No worries..

Yes.. Not 1 Lakh kms.. Clocked abt 52,000 Kms till Nov'16 (now sold) and then shifted to Gixxer SF FI (my brother's).. Engine was plenty smooth for a bike that has done 50K Kms, thought i did oil change at regular intervals..

Fantastic bike i must say both Gixxer / Gixxer SF FI.. Have done abt 67,000 Kms both combined so far.. Love them fully.. Juz wish Suzuki made a bigger Gixxer one day..

Met up with the Suzuki guy last week; he acknowledged the problem and said he will prepare a report and submit it to Suzuki who will then decide what to do. He said this issue could have happened to other bikes produced in the same batch as well. I am still awaiting his response ...
Just to update the forum regarding the above issue. The Suzuki engineer has resolved the handle bar alignment issue by adjusting the front forks. This was earlier tried by Service center technician also but they could not do it properly it seems. Had to go through a lot of following up to get this resolved. It was a relief that the problem is solved.

Also I completed the first service on the bike at 900 Kms. Immediate impression is that the gear shifts are now lot smoother. Now I am able to rev the bike till 7000 rpm and between 5000 and 6000 rpm the Engine is so smooth, the bike just sings!

From reading all the reviews for the Gixxer, everyone says the bike is vibration free but i feel handle bar vibrations till 5000 rpm after that they go away. Maybe my expectations were a bit high but the handle bar vibrations are definitely there. Will visit the service center again and get all the nuts and bolts tightened. Hopefully this will solve the issue.
