Whenever I push my bike on fifth gear from a speed of 40 to 45... I found that while it is speeding up... There is a knocking sound coming from the engine. It's not because I am riding my bike on a higher gear with a less speed bt.. for 5th gear 40 is a average speed which should not have any engine knocking prblm. Did anyone found the same prblm ? What to do...

    Dear riders,
I got my Pulsar AS 150 almost like 8 months ago. Recently im facing some issues with the bike , but mostly due to lack or parts and information. So please i so much appreciate whoever has the answers to the following query regarding , please help me out.
    * What is the exact model of the carburetor of Pulsar AS 150 ? I know it is ucal BS 29 but there are lots of BS 29 for different bikes so if i knew the exact one i can always be ready to order the right model. Also highly appreciate if someone knows the jet size for the particular model.
    * What is the default /factory AFR ratio for As 150 ? i assumed it is 2.5 full revolution ( mech messed it up so i tuned it to 2.5 ) but the problem is, bike has lost top end power slightly and vibrates a lot. I tuned it to 2 full revolutions and bike engine seems to vibrate lesser. Although i will go out for a spin to check top end, however i wonder if its too lean ? problem is i dont know the real factory value so had to play around . But a reference value is always welcome.
    * If any of you tuned your carb and getting good mileage yet engine runs happy, please do share your settings with me.
I thank you all in advance . Looking forward for your replies.

Based on your post, I assume you are a DIY guy. If you want to buy a new carburetor, please take the old carburetor to the spare parts shop. They can check the carb and get you a new one. This is what I do with my spirit's carb.
Tuning the carb is a different issue all together which you will learn with experience. I have messed the carb settings myself trying to rebuild the carb. Running rich would do less harm to your engine than running lean. I would suggest that you tune your carb based on your hearing and feel riding the bike. There are many articles over the internet on how to tune a carb. Do remember to check the colour of the spark plugs as it is the vital indicator whether the bike is running lean or rich.
    Hope this helps
    Thanks
