    * What is the exact model of the carburetor of Pulsar AS 150 ? I know it is ucal BS 29 but there are lots of BS 29 for different bikes so if i knew the exact one i can always be ready to order the right model. Also highly appreciate if someone knows the jet size for the particular model.

    * What is the default /factory AFR ratio for As 150 ? i assumed it is 2.5 full revolution ( mech messed it up so i tuned it to 2.5 ) but the problem is, bike has lost top end power slightly and vibrates a lot. I tuned it to 2 full revolutions and bike engine seems to vibrate lesser. Although i will go out for a spin to check top end, however i wonder if its too lean ? problem is i dont know the real factory value so had to play around . But a reference value is always welcome.

    * If any of you tuned your carb and getting good mileage yet engine runs happy, please do share your settings with me.
I thank you all in advance . Looking forward for your replies.
Good that you are a DIY kind of guy...like me....
I've clocked 12000kms on my AS 150 so far in 10 months

In fact... Even I'm not aware of the factory afr setting...

I had messed up with my afr once... Then I tuned it up myself... Did this for around 5 to 6 times to find the perfect afr setting for my bike...

It sits at 2.75 (360°) turns exactly from the fully closed position... Now I'm having a robust instant quick pickup response which was not there in factory mode...
With this afr setting I'm getting a mileage of 40 to 42 kmpl on average and a top speed of 138 kmph.

+ Or - of 0.5 turns away from the factory afr setting is not a thing to worry about... But I think afr of 2 turns is a bit lean... and not healthy for engine...

The more rich the mixture, the more cooler and healthier is the engine and lasts long.

I'm sorry as even I'm not sure that the carb is a Mikuni or Ucal... Because older pulsars would have Mikuni always... And I'm not aware whether it's a BS or CV carb.

    Dear AS 150 owner's...

From the day when I got my 3rd service done... That is at 7000 kms on odo...
There was change of oil gasket on my 3rd service.

I'm facing an issue of idling rpm fluctuation.

It fluctuates usually between 0.9 to 2 rpm always..

Is this normal? Has someone else faced this? Is there any solution?

Unhappy Dropped my Bike in Water. Need help ! :(

    Hi Guys,

I have dropped my Pulsar AS150 in rain water which was about knee high day before yesterday. I thought the water would have just gone inside the exhaust so I tried kick starting the engine immediately. But it dint start. So I started pushing my bike for some distance and again tried to kick start. It started but wont go beyond 2-3K RPM even at full throttle. I rode it that way till my house and din't try starting it the next whole day. I tried to start it today, it started as usual and it was running fine till I shifted to 4th gear at around 40-45KMPH, bike started to stall and there was some strange sound from the bike. What could it be ?

When you try starting a motorcycle that's submerged in water what happens is that water gets into the cylinder, carburetor and air filter box.

Since you've already covered considerable distance you can skip the cylinder but to be on the safer side it would be best for you to inspect your engine oil for emulsification.

    As for the rest please follow the below steps;

    1. Remove your AIR Filter and make sure its dry, replace if in bad condition.

    2. Drain AIR Filter box, there's a nipple cap at the base for doing it, accessible then wipe the inside of your air filter box and make sure there's no residue.

    3. Turn fuel OFF and drain the carburetor by unscrewing the drain screw, to be on the safer side drain the tank as well.

    Hope that helps.
