  • Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread

I got bike on 12th Jan. Sorry for late posting as i was busy with pending office work and power naps. [emoji13]
So i got call from bajaj dealer on 11th Jan afternoon.I was so excited that couldnt sleep properly and took leave from office for 12th Jan.
as soon as i went to bajaj showroom sweet bikes were ready for delivery.

Completed foramlities and was told to choose bike. I inspected bikes and found that few bikes are having lill panel gap at oil tank.
So i asked them for few more options. They called to their godown incharge to sent few white bikes.

Inspected again closely and there were no panel gaps in newly unloaded bikes.
Chose one bike and asked them to prepare.

After foramal ceremony bike came home.

(please dont look at my face ...i was feeling sleepy [emoji13] [emoji12] )

So far i have completed nearly 100 kms.
Bike is mature, power delivery is good. Throttle is nice and linear. Mid range is mad.
    <removed reference>
One of my friend who owns DUKE 390..he took test drive of my bike. He was quite impressed and excited. In his words"faad hai bhai"...he noticed few points as..bike is comfortable, power delivery is great, added weight is providing good handling(we rarely go beyond 100 or 120).
Lill vibrations but as rpms goes up vibration goes down.(For this big engine..these vibs are negligible)
Exhaust is nice and sweet bassy. So far i am enjoying the rides. Can't tell about mileage for now.

Got registration number today and number plates will be delivered by tuesday.
Manual, invoice and temp rc will be provided on tuesday or wednesday(whenever i will go to collect number plates).
Service Center people are cooperative so far and figers crossed for future.

Sorry if i missed something. Have fun and keep smiling [emoji4] [emoji106]

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

                    Congratulations. Enjoy your ride.

I had a question about the display on the tank. It feels like there are possibilities of water getting collected there. Has anyone checked.

Nice ride man. I have a few questions for you, which might help future prospective D-Owners.

                      1) You said that there were little panel gaps at 'Oil tank' can you please explain this? where is this exact location.

                      2) You are receiving a owner's manual? So far, many D400 owners couldn't get it, as told by dealers "Bajaj havent released one yet" please update on this, as it carries important info's.

                      3) One more request from me, is can you please find out, which engine oil does D400 use? Is it the regular Bajaj DTSI-10,000? Because Duke390 engine uses Motul 7100 20W50 which is pure synthetic oil. (This info should be available in ownership manual)

                      -Thanks!

                        Thank you.

Same question was in my mind when i saw that tank display first time. But after looking closely i noticed that there is space for water flowing at the bottom of display. So no such type of possibilities.

                          Hi mermiteminer,

                          1. Look at the highlighted panel joint. You may find the gap at this area.(not in this pic...i waited 1 hour for this panel gap free bike [emoji6] )

2... I asked bajaj dealer at the time of delivery. They confirmed that manual will be provided later. When i called them yesterday they told me to collect it whenever i am free.
I will update you all on the same.

3.. At the time of delivery they confirmed it to be synthetic oil. Rest will come out at the time of first service or whenever i vl get manual.

                          cheers!!
