Hi, I just made an account on this website and I hope this is the appropriate thread to post this. I own the R 2.0 ABS Model and have done close to 1k KMs since taking delivery. Around the end of July the bike started to exhibit an unusual problem that I couldn't find a solution for in the forums. The ignition/self start wouldn't work despite the kill switch being on and the battery not being low. Holding the starter switch down for a few seconds or sometimes few minutes would eventually make it start up. On a few occasions I had to push the bike because it simply refused to start and the bike doesn't have a kickstart. Matrix TVS Mira road where I get my bike serviced said the battery needed to be replaced and claimed to have checked the wiring and the switches and didn't find any fault in them. The battery replacement took a month to arrive and the bike continued to have the same issue with the temporary battery installed. The problem continued with the new battery as well after which I made them open up the Switch panel on the right handlebar. The technician reconnected all the cables which didn't seem to make any difference and said that the self start switch needs to be replaced. So while I wait for the replacement switch to arrive under warranty they have installed a temporary replacement which like the temporary battery has not made any difference. Haven't contacted customer care yet but I will if the replacement switch doesn't fix the issue. If anyone has a solution or recommendation on how to diagnose the problem then please let me know.
I think you are facing more or less same issue as to me.

My bike is just 6 months old and has ran 3500+ kms.

It was all good till second service and few days before second service, the bike refused to start and the display goes off and reset automatically. There is no issue in using horn and other electrical.

ASC said relay has gone and will replace under warranty and did the same. But exactly after a month, the same issue happened.

This time I went to main dealership at city (NP TVS MADURAI) and asked to resolve and complete third free service.

They said they have resolved but within 4-5 kms from asc, again the same issue happened. Asked them to check and replace battery.

Next day asc called and asked to take bike and nothing wrong with battery.

Now again after a month (600-700 kms) I’m facing same issue and this time I’m not going to asc or regional manager.

I have tweeted about the issue and I hope I’ll get a call back.
    Just do the same brother.

Demand for a replacement/refund for sure. However, they won’t provide refund. But Don’t let this matter pass. Atleast they can rectify it or replace it. We have to fight back for getting faulty ones.
Don’t trust those Asc people’s sugarcoated words.

Can low engine oil level cause throttle lag?

Will top up be enough? Because I had only done below 1500 kms since the last oil change.

If even after the switch change it fails then they will suggest to change the wiring kit.
Don't agree to all these nonsense. Demand for a replacement with another new Motorcycle don't compromise on these matters.
I took the bike in again before the new switch assembly came because it had become really inconvenient lately to start it. Turns out there was some miscommunication; the switch assembly on the bike was not a temporary replacement but in fact the old faulty one that they tried fixing with their tools. This time however I persuaded them to actually change the switch assembly(was a used switch assembly they had lying around) and the issue seems to have been resolved. The actual replacement will arrive this weekend. Hope it has been resolved for good!

Personally I would choose Shell, as I have more trust on it. I've been using Shell on all my bikes through out the ages, and It's done wonders for me on longer run.

    Hi All

Has anyone here managed to improve the braking experience on their bikes? My brake pads seem to going out and i am planning to replace them soon but wanted to improve the feel of the brakes along with it.

Are there any steel braided brake lines we can use on our bikes? I do remember that @ALI.R had changed his bikes to the steel braided lines from P220. But i saw a video from youtube that claimed that this doesn't work (apparently the cable is too short). Are there any other bikes in our market whose lines i can use (what about the RTR200 ABS model ..does that come with steel braided brake lines?).

If someone else has successfully managed to improve the brakes in any way please let me know.

    Thanks for the help
