Angry Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread

Having problems with my Dominar 2019 UG. Bought the bike in 2019 July (Still curse myself for taking this stupid decesion. Should have gone with CB300r or a Ninja300).
Also what I found really disturbing at the service centers is that the first reaction to any query is "it's all fine, nothing is wrong" without even checking the bike.
Can't belive in a place like Bangalore, the quality of mechanics is so bad. Everyone I came across at these service centers is a brainless f***.

Started hearing all sorts of rattling noises after first service at Khivraj Bajaj Marathalli.
After the second service at Khivraj Bajaj Indiranagar started hearing whine/humming noise from the bike when riding it at around 70-80 kmph in 5th/6th gear. Also its more pronounced when decelerating.
Took it to Khivraj Bajaj kasturba road and the mechanic told the sound is engine breathing (Don't really think that's what it is. Was engine not breathing before the second service.)
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this ?

Also at this point I would like to tell everyone planning to buy Dominar UG, DONT.
Spare your self from endless visits to their service centers.

Check the drive chain tension. If it is too tight or if the chain is dry you could be getting whining sound. Otherwise you might need to check wheel, rear sprocket and front sprocket bearings condition. There is a high chance that bearings are not faulty since it is a new motorcycle and the chain is not properly adjusted

check your chain and lubricate it. I also faced whining noise and chuck-chuck noise so SC said chain was loose and dry. Now it is perfect.

Hi guys. I own 2017 dominar. It's already done 21 k. Now i am noticing oil leakage. Let me explain. Service center guys replaced main oil drain bolt they test driven for 3 km and said all okay. But i notice leakage after riding 40-50 kms., Again reported the issue. They kept my bike for 3 days checks all possible bolts and opening that could cause oil leakage. They test ridden 10 kms and said all ok. I observed wax like gum applied on all bolts under the engine.
Again I observed single drop in bottom middle portion of engine belly after riding 40 -50 kms.
Note- i left my bike for 10 days with out riding it and i didn't observe any oil leakage. It happens only when i ride my bike more than 30 kms in the other word may be when the engine oil become thin and heated enough.
I will take my bike to same service center after 2 weeks. Please advise me what shall i ask them to look for. Do you guys have any idea where this oil leakage.
I don't want to share pics, as soon as i put on side stand that single drop from the bottom of engine belly run towards left part of engine and accumulate at the tip of oil drain bolt that may mislead you guys.

The suspect in this case could be the secondary oil strainer bolt. A damaged O ring or a cracked bolt. The oil drain bolts are made of softer metal. I too had managed to crack the main drain bolt.
