I don't know which brake line to get for the ABS version. Anyone swapped their ABS model brake lines? Any Help is Appreciated!
You can try KTM 390's abs brake lines which are steel braided. measure first before buying because 1 piece cost around 2k. but on an abs bike it won't really make a difference going to steel braided from rubber lines. i don't have r15, but on my fz25 (abs retrofit) i'm using ktm brake hose for front. and there's no difference compared to rubber hose. both bikes have same brake setup so i doubt r15 will act different.

    Hi all

I m new here. I am from Hyderabad. I have Yamaha R15 V3 NON ABS Model which I bought in April 2018. This is my first bike.
Recently I started to upgrade my bike specially my brakes.

First change is the engine oil which I shifted to Motul 300V2 10W50. The bike feels more peppier than before and bit more smooth and less vibie. One ting is the major vibration for R15 V3 is from the pillion foot rests and am not able to do anything to remove those.

Next are the brakes which I think has been my bike's weakest point from beginning. Point to note here is that my roommate also has the same bike which he bought only 15 days prior to me, but his brakes are awesome. Both front and rear have great bite and stopping power. Whereas for me only front was good but it really used to flex pretty soon with hard braking. Rears were absolutely pathetic. No stopping power and no bite at all. Initially after around 2000kms I started feeeling them working a bit but they used to get locked very easily. Then the service center guy did something and since then that even stopped working. Don't know why this difference. I have been telling the service center guys regarding the issue in all servicing but they never resolved the issue. They just used to do some minor adjustments and give it back without any major change in behavior. Till now they never bled my brakes..

Anyways I have changed my front brake lines to steel braided ones, the one from Pulsar 220F. Also have got both my front and rear brakes bleed properly. The front now feels more progressive. But I will reserve the final verdict for later this month since my brake pad are also new. Have to see the rear performance for next few days.

The next upgrade I m looking for are the brake pads which I m thinking to go for EBC Double HH Sintered brakes pads.

Does anyone have any experience with these brake pads or installed in there R15 V3? I would like to know how is the brake feel in terms of initial bite and progression and overall stopping power. Also what is the brake-in period of these pads?

Please suggest any other mods that might be useful for improving the braking with some links.

    Thanks in advance.

I have been told by my SVC that to put BS6 varient of R15/MT15 or any other BS6 on Fi station, it requires a different adapted to connect to MID port. Is this true?
Please confirm if anyone have seen such thing.

It is true. All FI bikes have OBD connectors for them to detect and clear any error codes. This specific tool is a special reader, that will be present with the SVC guys. Almost all Yamaha bikes that are Fuel Injected will have these ports to connect to the diagnostic tool.

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END
