By the way, can someone help me with the gear to speed ratio for Street 220 ?
I am looking it from someone who has done less than 2000kms and from someone who has done more than 5000-10000 kms.

Just want to know what is the sweet spot you guys find for the gear to speed ratio, while keeping the engine not too revved up and stressed. Since the bike doesn't have a tacho so I know the job gets difficult.

My current ratios are : 1st - 15kmph, 2nd - 20-25kmph, 3rd - 35kmph ( I find this gear very small ) , 4th gear seems taller with speed ratio between 30-50kmph, and 5th gear - 40/45 and above ( sometimes the engine stalls at 40 when it's cold, but when the engine is hot the bike runs at 35 too in 5th gear lol ).

    Thanks
Yesterday I installed additional step for saree guard as new Avengers dont have one. It become difficult for elder women to sit and rest their legs in absence of footrest (step).
I installed it from local market.
Installation time 2 min, cost : 220 Rs.
Now anyone can sit on rear seat of bike easily.

    Hi
I drive with exact same ratio, though there is no tachometer, its very easy to judge the engine stress. On 5th Gear bike runs smooth on between 50-60 kmph

    Hi Friends,

I own a suzuki gixxer 155. I am getting constant shoulder pain when commuting daily with backpack on. Also, the traffic is a pain in my city. I wanted to change to a scooter which can carry luggage and be easy to ride - without much strain on wrists. But I don't want to lose out on the cool factor as well - don't want aprilia sr 150 for other reasons. Recently though, I test rode cruise 220 avenger and found it impressive. Light clutch and gear, responsive throttle and amazing stability. However I am interested in street 150 and 220 - I prefer 150 for my usage within the city.

Now considering that my commute is 30 km daily to and fro and occasionally many other longer commutes within the city, I want to know whether street 150 will be good for the stop and go traffic and reduce my shoulder and wrist pain. Additionally, I want the following details:

    - Does 150 street come with tubeless tyres?

    - How is it while riding with a backpack on shoulders? I know the riding position is pretty upright and relaxed but does it hurt? Is there any other way to keep the backpack, like on the tank and in between the legs - I don't want to buy a tank bag or panniers separately.

    - How is the reliability of this bike? People warn me not to buy Bajaj motorcycles as they start giving huge troubles within two years of purchase. This will be my bike for at least 5 years once I decide to buy one.

    - Do the clutch and gear shifts feel the same as cruise 220? light and easy to use in stop and go traffic without much pain on wrists?

    - How is the maneuverability in traffic? I found the cruise a little too big to make tight turns in street.

    - Do traffic police dig this bike? I know this is funny but traffic police usually stop all the sporty ones - fz, gixxer, ktms and pulsars. They don't bother much about scooters. I do not know about this one, so how's it with the cops?

    - I'm 5'11" tall and I found the handlebar on cruise little cumbersome. Is it the same with street models?

Kindly answer my questions and let me know if I should choose this over a scooter for my usage and convenience.

    Thanks,

    Srinath.

    Hi,
    All three models are superb!
Street model is good for city ride but my Cruise is also good there. I did not find any difficulty in driving mumbai traffic .
-New street Avengers may come with Tubeless tyres but Cruise wont.
-Avengers are reliable than RE bikes and routine maintenance is all that you need. Maintenance cost is low and spares are easily available.
-150 street will give you more mileage and driving comfort also.
-Take a pic of yourself while sitting on bike and decide how it suits your height, I am 5'4" so it suits me.

I selected cruise for its looks, classic chrome finished parts, oil cooled engine and Golden Cat is not common on road.
Traffic cops generally stops sports bikes but cruise bike riders are decent people so no worry

Secondly this tic tic sound which comes in from the engine is basically the sound which comes when the engine is started the first time in the morning but after the engine oil is set in the engine it should stop. As for the cold start issue I am guessing they have messed up with the carburetor setting. Get it done from a good local mechanic. So that this problem is solved from there but not from the asc they have a habit of calling the bike again and again. I have gone through. Also get some rear break loosen down from the local mechanic too.
Rest I am sure you will love this bike. Don't worry just get in touch with a good mechanic and get rid of this bajaj oil.it is the worst oil I have seen.
Thanks bro for advice , yes i gonna change oil from break in period , as i read somewhere it is advised not to go for synthetic oil in break in period , corect if i am wrong.gonna visit service center tomo asking them to check carb , as bike doesnt start in one go heck even in 3 to 4 times , if its parked over an hour , even after riding many kms.
I adjusted gear shifter from local mechanic and he improved it lot but still not smooth as my first month riding, guess due to that stupid booster they added.

thanks again , i love this bike a lot , it was my dream to own avenger(or any cruiser)

    Hi,

1.How will be the Castrol active power one 20w50 for street 150, I had used in my Cbz, it was the best, ultra smooth.

    2. Need clarification, the bajaj ASC won't use the oil given by us, they will use their own bajaj oil. And if we don't get the bike serviced at ASC for recommended times 3 free and 4 paid, I'm afraid warranty would be not be given. So not sure how to use our preferred oil.

    3. Also my bike has completed around 3700kms and 2nd service is due at 4.5kms. Bike is not as smooth as it should be around and beyond 60kmph. Ride is not really enjoyable. Are the vibes because of bajaj oil used in first service, please advise.

This is what I Have been reiterating in this thread over few weeks. The bike literally sucks at speeds around 60-75/80kmph. Since I am in break in period, so never went beyond 75kmph, even 60+ speeds only lasted few seconds.
The vibes are horrible and I like to blame the engine oil for it. Bajaj engine oil is terrible, and they insist using it for some reasons. Though they didn't mention any additive in the engine oil but I am sure something went bad.
I am desperate to clean the current engine oil and use Motul hybrid 15w50....but as it has only been 200km since service so I would hate to waste the current oil. Maybe, after next 300-350kms I will go for Oil change. The Bajaj ASC will never know that I used a different oil.

The asc guy himself advised that do the oil change from outside and acknowledged that their oil sucks.

So buddy the right thing would be of changing the engine oil for the better ment of the bike and a hassle free ride all along.
Hi arjun thanks for the reply.
Will changing the engine oil void the engine warranty. My bike is 8 months old with 2.5K on ODO and done with 2 services. ( can I change from mineral oil to other with less than 5k on ODO)
I found out two choices of engine oil ,Motul 7100(full synthetic) or Motul 5100(semi-synthetic) which one should I prefer?

Also any suggestion's for led fog lamp installations on avy street?
    Thanks

Hello everyone, got by first bike avenger 150 on 14th November for on-road price of 91,850 in Tirupati.
They asked me to choose one for test ride from the storage room. I found some with tube and 1 or 2 tubeless variants, opted for tubeless, though the bike looks like it has been there for months(so dusty and in a corner of the room). But the service guy pointed me towards an extension on the engine and said that it is a new model and has more pickup.

filled with 1000rs and have clocked about 690-700 km(50kmpl average-25%city,75%highway) within 2 weeks and got it serviced on 30th,
    Problems I've faced
    1) Rider seat is comfortable but pillion seat is a pain (narrow and hard)-thought getting a seat cover would solve this problem but made it even worse, even lost rider seat comfort(it became hard and sweaty)
2)within 200kms gearshifts lost its smoothness
3)after filling for 500rs fuel gauge is in readline after 100kms ride filled again with 500rs it went to full
4)There's always a fuel leak(fuel drops when parked) from a rubber hose down to carb (carb drain pipe)-dont know the reason, said to service guy but still presists! Need help
5)New tic-tic sound in engine and its fades away when clutch is engaged -reduced after service
6)Feeling a little back pain on long rides(may be due to new hard seat cover) and wrist pain in traffic-clutch lever too far i guess
    Mods I've done
    1) Seat cover and tank cover for 600rs-(thinking of removing seat cover-will it be any problem?)
    2) got grills form amazon for 670rs headlight, taillight, indicators
    3) got studds side box from amazon 790 rs
    4) indicator buzzer,handle bar grips,100rs

as far as the running period is considered,
-Never crossed 55-60kmph till first service-(20-30% of throttle-ultra smooth ride)
-2 times reached 75kmph but feels like im at 80% of throttle and some vibrations(don't know if it's common)
    -Constantly varying rpm or speed
----------Is there anything else i need to consider?

does anyone know what this extension on engine is(is it the new bs4 standard engine) ?
    Thanks

Change the engine oil with 5100 of motul semi synthetic. It would be good for the bike but do this after you have done 4000 on the odo till then stick with 20 w 50 which is good for the engine for now. Don't even think for fully synthetic.

Firstly congrats on your new bike I like the snaps which u shared with us. As for the leakage well it happened in my case to for which I got the carb open and changed the fuel pin which has solved my problem for good. But the carburetor has to be tuned again remember which is good also as the bike gives a low fuel problem which is happening with most of the avanger out there as the company has set the carb to fully rich for a good fuel efficiency irrespective of the feeling of the low fuel problem which we are facing. Hence just this job done from a capable service guy whome you think is a professional in your asc.
For the snap which you have shared I think in the new bs4 version of 150 avanger I think they have removed the air cool system and added oil cool system in the new variant can u please share one picture of the front middle part of the engine which will clear this picture. Also buddy please click the snap of the rear tyre or tell me the make of the company as you have got tubeless tyres on this bike i.e. bs4 version. Do this for me thank you.

Hi ,The rear tyre has MRF NYLOGRIP ZAPPER Tubeless embedded on it. And i don't think it is oil-cooled, it doesn't have radiator and stuff.
