This would be my first post on Ownership Experiences after my introduction.

Currently I am owing Yamaha FZ-S Dual Disc since June 2018 which would complete its 1 year on June 15.
Till now I haven't faced any issues on the motorcycle except for few niggles which are common regarding loose bolts & chain adjustment.

Seeing discussion regarding engine oil my FZ-s (2018) was filled with Yamalube Synthetic Oil 10w40 (recommended oil for R15 & R3) since its 1st Free Service. Oil is ok for city ride & occasional revving , imo almost similar like Shell Advance Ultra 10w40 except for fact that motorcycle vibrates if driven above 5k RPM. Drain interval is around 3000 kms according to Yamaha. Costs around 450

Had tried Shell AX7 10w40 (Semi-Synthetic) once, didn't felt like Semi-Synthetic, felt like premium mineral oil & don't know why felt engine needed for oil change after 1500 kms. According to Shell's attendant oil could be stretched to 5k kms . Better to use Motul 5100 15w50 or Elf Total Moto 4 Roadster (Currently using on TVS Wego) which could be stretched to 3000 kms.

Currently driving on Yamalube Sporty Premium 10w40, thinking to switch to either Motul 7100 10w40/10w50 or Castrol Power 1 Racing 10w50 or Elf Total Moto Tech 4 10w50 (Could source Castrol & Elf from official distributors/dealer)!! If anyone have any experience with those then please share!!

Also is it necessary to pour Yamalube Carbon Cleaner in every service because here they pour at every service?? Heard fuel additives or Premium fuels also do same job!!
Castrol Power 1 is not so good!

And Carbon cleaner is not a must have element at every 3000kms. It depends on your Fuel quality which you fill.
You try out some various other additives for engine smoothness and FI cleaning (if i get any links I'll update this post).

Thank you for clearing doubt on carbon cleaner, my svc mostly fill carbon cleaning in 3 service when I've crossed 3k kms or more, without informing me. Will enquire them on next service.

Regarding Castrol I never had any problems, I mostly buy oil from authorized dealers whether its Castrol, Shell or Elf.

Hi! I am facing patchy tire wear both in front and rear. Tire treads are more worn out at some places compared to other. Is shocker the reason for this? I have done around 70k on my bike(fzs 2012)

Engine noise issue is still there bro .. no changes in that .. tried Yamalube sporty premium this time and didn't feel any change in the noise (clocked around 350 kms till now on it) .. i didn't even feel a change in the smoothness as well .. i thought yamaha is calling this oil as fully synthetic so maybe there'd be some changes in the feel .. to my surprise there is none .. finally i would say yamalube is useful for keeping your warranty otherwise their whole line up is shit

yes I did a couple of months ago .. the engineer rode the bike and gave some techincal explanation from where the noise was coming from .. he said we can open the engine to resolve the noise but suggested not to tinker with engine .. if any issue comes up in future you have 5 year warranty .. we'll resolve your issue

but imo this is how the engine has been made and cannot be resolved after changing the parts which are making this noise .. as the new parts will also be the same and will start making noise after some time .. as it has been seen that most of the owners are complaining about the noise

Yes many owners are facing this noise issue i have communicated with owners on YOU TUBE who are facing this irritating issue.
I raised a complaint at the yama india website the concerned person has called & asked me to take appointment of the service engineer who visits the service center on weekly basis. Waiting for the kal from the service center to show the issue to engineer lets see what this guy soo called service engineer will do.
