Currently I am using a hero dawn headlight but the headlight isn't satisfactory.
If you are not looking for those new fancy LED 7" skull headlights and want to use old school halogen round headlght setup, then I'd recommend you to go the getting the stock headlight setup from Royal Enfield Classic. I've had decent kms put on this setup, the high and low beam don't disappoint on the stock dome setup with Bosch 60/55 W(₹80 Bulb) Halogen (H4 Socket), has decent throw and illumination intensity on both beams.

Preferably try to source ONLY the headlight vendor brands "Minda" or "Lumax".

    1. I have read about the coin rattling noise on earlier FZ models. Are v3 users facing it too?

    2. What is the mileage you are getting?

    3. Why did you buy this over other 150-160cc bikes when this has, on paper, the lowest power in its class?

I am looking forward to being part of this community!

    Hello there,

That's really great that you're looking to buy the most reliable motorcycle of the Decade, the YAMAHA FZ.

I'll try to clarify your doubts a little bit.
Question 1: I have read about the coin rattling noise on earlier FZ models. Are v3 users facing it too?
Yes, the coil rattling noise is misunderstood across the society. Basically this noise comes from non-adjusted Valves(Both inlet and outlet aka tappet).
If you ever found this noise, you can go to the ASC and ask them to adjust the valves for you, I've done the same for 3&half years on the Yamaha FZ.
And also the frequency of this occurrence will be directly based on two parameters "1. Riding style and 2. Kind of engine Oil".

Question 2:What is the mileage you are getting?
I'm getting 42-46 in city(Bengaluru), 48-55 on highway, please do remember it is based on your riding style as well as where you're refilling your bike.
If you're refilling it with a trusted source keep it constant and always go full-tank to full-tank every time to escape from fraudulent activities.

Question 3: Why did you buy this over other 150-160cc bikes when this has, on paper, the lowest power in its class?
Yes now we've arrived at the USP of the Yamaha FZ over the years.
When you're looking for a 150-160cc bikes it means you're looking at the commuting(premium) as well as occasional highway touring on highways. For these two you need a bike which gives comfort, reliability as well as some amount of linear power delivery(I'm specifically telling LINEAR).
When you take the example of the available options in 150cc we'll get an option from each manufacturer in India, such as Pulsar, Apache, Gixxer.
Here are the uniqueness of the above mentioned bikes:
    Pulsar NS160cc:
(I'm not considering 150 here as it has become deprecated in terms of new feature, but still sold by the company)
It's a segment filler from Bajaj , which just comes with the aesthetic looks of it's bigger sibling NS200 nothing else. It carries many of the Bajaj's common problems such as lack of proper service, engine-oil burning, low-mileage and many more. [My younger brother owns thing]
    Apache 160 4v:
Yes, it's a game changer but longevity is the main concern here as the TVS service is not up to the mark.
    Gixxer 2020:
When we're talking about the face-lift Gixxer, it's not at all in the contention when it comes to comfort, as the Suzuki ruined it's updated version compared to the segment leader older-version Gixxer.

So, finally we've Yamaha FZ-V3 for the most suitable bike in the 150cc street-racer/commuter/
    occasional-high-riding class.

    Suggestion;
If you're looking for higher-end torque(Power) you better go for MT-15 from the same family.

    Cheers,
    Thippu

    Hi
I have Fazer 2010 model and recently changed the battery. It was working fine for a few days then the self stopped working after raining and one day I clicked self button and a click sound came from the right side of the bike and the battery also stopped working. Now I have to kick start the bike and it is not loading power from the battery. I checked fuse and it's fine and battery voltage is around 12.8. I also checked rectifier regulator but I am not sure if it's fine or not. The mini self relay under the seat is making kat-kat sound. Now, the battery is not transferring power to meter and it's light does not turn on after switching on the motorcycle. Please advise if anyone knows about it.
