Not having a fuel gauge is ok as long as the low fuel indicator shows up when there are about 100kms.left to go. Going by 4 litres, it should be around 80-100kms.based on riding.

For those who are comparing the Ninja's headlamps with the P220's, agreed the P220 has a 55/60w ellipsoidal projector headlamp-the Ninja doesn't have projectors, but in high beam both the 55w headlamps glow together, which beats the P220's single high beam headlamp by a great margin-If the P220's does its job well, I think the Ninja's high beam should do the job excellently.

I would also like to point out something that was told to me - that the fuel pump lubrication is by petrol itself so dry tanks should be avoided as far as possible.

Ninja high beam, as I said earlier, is amazing. Much better than my Octavia (at least in city since I haven't driven Ninja out of city).

One more feature I forgot to mention is if the vehicle is idling with side stand on, if you try to put it in gear, vehicle shuts off preventing a nasty fall later on.

One great feature for novice riders is if vehicle is idling, it will not shift to any other gear than first or neutral. This feature enables new riders to shift back to neutral after stopping the bike. Saves on hunting for neutral.

Speaking of the fuel gauge on the 250R, I have run low on fuel about twice till now where the "Low Fuel" was lit to its full luminosity...then a few seconds later it dimmed out. Like a regulated capacitor driven LED. The fuel light wasnt blinking ( like a turn indicator) but glowing and then dimming after a few seconds.

This behaviour of the fuel light is nowhere to be found in the owners manual. The manual just says that the fuel light will be lit once the ike is carrying about 4 litres which happens to be its reserve.

So the light dims and relights when the bike is running on 5 litres ?

Anyone ?

I think it must work like the one in my car-when there are about 6 litres left, it glows&then dims off i.e.,intermittent glowing&then when there are 5 litres left, it glows continuously. Now you need to observe your bike's!

I would also like to point out something that was told to me - that the fuel pump lubrication is by petrol itself so dry tanks should be avoided as far as possible.

For any fuel injected vehicle, having too less fuel quantity poses grave risk to the fuel pump!

if its not a fuel meter then what is that meter on the extreme right....i thought it was a fuel gauge so didn't check.....

The one on the right is a temperature gauge...with a small low fuel indicator on the left side. In the American carburetted model, the temperature gauge is replaced with a fuel gauge. We are getting the European spec model with Fi, so no fuel gauge, only low fuel indicator!

this is the best thing i have so far came across....i have seen may falls because of the side stand on.....

Yeah. The fuel gauge is more practical though.

It's True that people would be indicating you with different signals that the headlamp is on. Performing thier duty bro as they always did with anyother Indian bike. I am sure they don't know what the feature is & what the benefit one gets out of it? So forgive them. Just pass a smile when they do so.

true but personally i fell riding on indian road with headlamp on during day time is quite of a foolish act.....thought its 250cc but still not a super bike....

We can install an After market switch to turn off the Healights....Its not a Big Deal....
Coz most parts of India - daylight will be more briighter more than the European countries - so Driving with Headlights ON is something Not practical here......

atleast it'll be useful in a way that someone from the opposite side will be alerted when you're on a 2 lane road, with no divider or something

Compare with some international models....
I think this feature is also available in Yamaha R15.... Not sure....

Those who tour will appreciate the importance of AHO (Automatic Headlights On) feature, which all SBKs have. When we tour in a group, we keep our headlights on through 4 lane highways&position lights on through single&2 lane highways. About people signaling to you, just ignore it. In the city I find people asking me for a lift even though I have a single seat cowl on. Control your tempers coz thats just one fleeting moment.
Back to the topic on hand, what I really feel is lacking, is a pass switch-how do we get truckers coming onto our path out of the way? By simpy toggling between high&low beam?

as far as i know day time running lights use very low voltage.
