Not really. The life span of drive chain is generally 25k-30k miles i.e. around 40k-48k kms.
Update: In last few days, we've checked many alternatives for chain (online as well as offline). Looks like things will settle in 2-3 days. Will keep you all updated.

Bluevolt's DIY hugger is one of the best fitting and cheapest.

Today my tank pad got stolen when my bike was parked in my college campus.
I too faced the same problem , not once but twice.. I do not know why people in Bangalore have crazy for tank pads which is their on other's bike..

I replaced it with a new one for a cheaper price.

You need H7 Extension harness (Car Accessory Shop will have it).
Inline Cord Switch (Electrical Shop will have it).
Small Peice double sided tape (Stationary).

              Open Fairing.

Remove plug from Lo-beam and connect to the extension H7 harness, and other side to the bulb.

Now cut the (-ve) wire in the extension harness and connect the inline cord switch.

Sitck it in a convinient place inside the black plastic lurching between fairings.

              Done.

Notes :- I have suggested to cut the negetive terminal coz, if accidentally it got shot with frame - the light glows. This way avoiding risk of +ve shots.

And while overtaking you can use the Hi Beam switch in the handle bar and that works.

This way you can revert completely to stock if needed later.

              Hope this helps.

thanks to both will try out something on similar lines.

                      • I've recently made few minor visual and practical changes to my baby

                        1. Zero Gravity Sports Tourer windcreen
                        2. Rascal Graffik 3 part tank pad
                        3. SIDI stickers at various places

                        Reason for 1.

In order to reduce wind buffeting greatly and change the appearance. I can now literally sit upright (well, almost upright but certainly i dont need to crouch even half as much as i used to before) even at speeds in excess of 160kmph! Benefits being, almost all the wind resistance is blown over my helmet making my helmet extra quiet and making the ride much more comfortable, specially for long journeys as i ride more than 75% on highways. I personally like the looks but its subjective. I can live with a few odd comments as long as i can ride longer easier.

                        Reason for 2.

I wanted a thicker and longer tank pad (preferably 3 parts) and this was the best i could find. I felt it aesthetically improved the look as well as reduced the area of potential scratches.

                        Reason for 3.

Got them with sidi riding boots. I desperately wanted to reduce the GREEN on my baby as i sport a full green riding gear! I wanted a sporty yet subtle stickers on my ninja hence i opted for these!

p.s. Any suggestions of professional looking (classy) stickers to further change the appearance are greatly appreciated!

                        • Guys, I am in process to change my rear tyre to the pirelli sport demon (130). The lowest I could get it is for 3450/- but I am not sure how the shop is going to do it without putting the bike on a stand. Would lifting the bike on a car jack placed beneath the rear shock while it being on the side stand be a good idea?

Also, while reassembling the wheel, does the chain have to be readjusted. Are there any other precautions to be taken care for this job so that the wheel is properly balanced etc.

BTW the prices for the chain sprocket are an absolute shocker. All spare part prices are ridiculously high, probably suitable for a bike costing more like 8 lakh rupees. Bajaj....we are not happy with this

                          • There is one more thing. i recently changed the engine oil myself and seem to have put in a little more than ideal. It is going a little over the glass window when the bike is level. Does anyone know if this can be a problem and if i want to reduce the excess oil how can I?
