Best to wait at least 10,000 kms before using fully synthetic oil like 300V.

Service interval for the 250R is every 6k kms. Read the owners manual for more information.

The chain and swingarm alignment might require adjustment so after the tire is fixed go to PBK for a check and adjustment.

Glad to know you're safe Ananth, which is most important than anything. Which place did this happen? Anywhere at Porur or near by office

Hope the incident didn't attract much crowd!!! These MTC buggers are so arrogant these days that no one will lodge a complaint against them & even if we do, their jobs are safe

Why is it that u can't do anything about it? And if we take this outlook then nobody will think anything about causing accidents, people will become more reckless drivers, city roads will become a nightmare for bikers. In this case as you weren't able to note down the reg number of the bus, but otherwise even if it is a red light car one should go to the police station.

It happened near Hyundai, I was on way to Kanchipuram.

It was a private college Bus, and there were so many busses going into the same road one by one (after the crash) and hard to point which bus was at fault.

Well, yes - We need to take them to the near by Police Station. But we being the smallest vehicle on road - The buses will hardly even stop after the accident.

I meant - Least we could do is to note down the registration number, driver's name, licence number, contact number, address, etc and hand it over at the police station.

i don't believe this...as ninja has petal brakes and tubular chasis ....

Let them say whatever they want.

There is no competitor of Ninja 250 still in the World. Its the Best, be it braking, handling, power or top speed. Keep in mind that Ninja is the only twin cylinder bike in India under 250cc category.

                        • today I completed 800kms on my ninja and 800kms still to go to complete the running-in. I just wanted to listen to the revving sound, so I revved it to 10,000rpm and there I heard some sort of a metallic sound, to confirm it, again I revved and heard the same.Is it normal?? During the whole running-in I've been around 4000revs 80-85%of the time. I also warm it up for at least a minute before I start riding it. Is that metallic sound (slight clanging) knocking?? I use shell fuel and that sound is never heard at lower revs. I have just heard it at 10000rpm.
P.S: my bike runs silky smooth though.

                          • guys today i visited trivandrum-probiking to have a good look at my going-to-be ride. They have the old 2008 demo model (black analogue) for display. Console was all dusty and looked too plasticky, I guess the 2011 white analogue compliments the black background and wouldn't look so dull, or may be it was because of the dust. (please find the pic attached)

Moving on, I sat on it to have a feel. I am a bit over 6Ft and if I sit properly I feel like my legs are cramped and if I move back a little I feel like my arms are stretching too much, couldnt hit the right balance. May be just a matter of time in adjusting to sitting posture (the bike was clamped to the ground at the rear).

After that I went onto honda showroom, the cbr250 didn't feel cramped at all, I was right at home.

I have the money to book the ninja without a sweat and my mind is with the baby ninja. So are the "May bes" I listed above just psychogenic?.

                            PS:
My old ride was a 150cc pulsar dtsi, and I haven't ridden a bike in the last 2+ years and would have to mature to a sporty riding position I suppose.

If mileage and ownership cost is your primary concern - then you're not a Ninjitsu - go ahead and buy the CeeBeeAar.

Mate, honestly i'd advice you to take test rides of both bikes and you'd see the difference yourself! Request for test rides on good clear roads whereby you cross can 100kmph on both the bikes and decide for yourself (in addition to daily bumper to bumper traffic). In reply to the 3 points you've mentioned, the Ninja beats and surpasses each point (except for the cbr abs version which is brilliant in able hands).

                                Enough said!

IMHO, black background looked good but the newer white background looks even better. About the whole console being plasticky - both the older and newer consoles are solidly built and you shouldn't hear any creaks or weird noises even when one applies a lot of pressure on them! I don't wish to make any comparisons, but a closer look and feel of both the CLEAN consoles (ninja and cbr) and you'll know the difference.

you are probably right regarding the difference between both bikes (both feet down whilst sitting on each bike) being evident. Ninja can accommodate shorter riders than a cbr in terms of its length from seat-ground. I can't fully comment on the riding position as both felt very similar. (i'm little over 5'10)
