    Thanks for the reply BV

I could come to the following conclusions after some inspection:
    1. The brake pads are still 40% left which should last for a good 2k kms more.

    2. The spongy feel on the brakes should not be the case even if the brake pads are 15-20%. Disc brakes should be consistently effective allthrough the brake pads wear if I am not wrong.

    3. Going by the above two points, I might say that this is due to formation of air bubbles in the brake oil liner... And bleeding the brakes might help...

BUT what is confusing me here is excessive brake dust depositing on only the back side of the rear disc

Can any other owners confirm me what is the amount of dust you can see on the back side of your front disc after a small ride ???

But this head shake usually is induced due to a worn out cone-set, and replacing it usually solves the issue. The wear is a little faster if the bike is ridden on bumpy/broken roads more often.

Unevenly worn out tyre will not cause a head shake, but it will pull unevenly to a side on roads where the surface is not smooth.
      I agree with you.

I do not agree because I had tried with brand new tyres on Chennai track but still the bike displayed head-shake

I think a good painter can do it easily-the shade is not even metallic.
The entire job should be done within 1000 bucks at the max.
Here my painter would charge even lower than that!
Just remove the part, take it to the painter alongwith another part for color reference.
See to it that the shade is matched correctly (computer)&clear coat (lacquer) is sprayed for longlasting showroom finish.

Speed is not relevant for headshake; rpm is. You need to rev it above 8-10k rpm and then leave handle, bike would shake its head even at 60 kmph.
Tried the above today and revved it to 10k rpm at 4th gear and left the handle bar and did not face any shake/wobble. BTW my rim has the metallic weights on it.

          • Excuse me for asking this question here, Will the N250R see a price-cut/localization in the near future?

Considering how well they're selling, I don't think they will even if they can!

IMO the CEEBEEAAR 250 actually helped sales of the N250R. I'm hearing continuous wailing from Honda owners, which can only help the Ninja.

+1 single cylinder and spare part woes have taken it out as an option for me for my next upgrade. i'm just waiting to see what hyosung has up its sleve in its relaunched GT250R. Btw any idea when would the Ninja 250 2012 model be available?

Went to Pro-biking service today for the second time and this time the service engineer has initially took out the disc pads and shown me the comparison between a brand new disc pads and mine.. There was almost 40% of my brake pad liner left which could easily last for around 2lk + kms...

Next I got the brakes bleeded and VIOLA!~!!!!! The problem VANISHES

Regarding the Brake dust, in the service center I went around 6-7 Ninja's and rubbed my fingers around the rear of the front disc and came out of the service center with BLACK FINGERS and a HAPPY MIND

And as the Service Manual Suggests: [Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V from Manual]

                  WARNING!
Be sure to bleed the air from the brake line whenever brake lever or pedal action feels soft or spongy after the brake fluid is changed, or whenever a brake line fitting has been loosened for any reason.

About a couple of months ago,my Friend bought a Ninja which had done about 25k Kms (15 months old). He paid 1.9 (Quote by the seller was 2.4). Check Find the price of your bike - Bikes4Sale.in which will give a good indication.

                        You were right Aditya
But the brake dust confused me
I was not confident on the oil that was used by the mechanic as it was a different color and also it was from an open container....
Brake oils should not be exposed to open air for a long time as they absorb moisture very quickly...

So got a TVS DOT4 oil today and did a DIY brake Bleeding changing the complete oil in the master reservoirs and the brakes feel much more better now

2.4 is what I obtained for my bike that had done 5000 km.

                          • A small experience with the Ninja

                            Hello all,

I had the Ninja for two days now....Iam just penning down my thoughts about the bike which I also feel like sharing.

It was a big one for me after riding my Pulsar 180. The dynamics of this one are totally out of this world.
I mean it picks you up from a place and ensures you are on a different planet. Its like those high end tune ups which end up being on tracks when the sun goes down.

Throttle response and overall control is simply outstanding, well for me the retardation force of the 250R was working perfect in those small corners I tackled. Compared to its weight I felt pretty comfortable, it was nimble and easy on the corners. I never had to actually shift weight for getting the corner done.. The design of the bike is meant to handle them in the most easiest manner.

Straight line speeds are maddening at times, the bike in no time reaches 12,000rpm. Also i tried shifting at 14K rpm instead of 13k rpm which is red line. I experienced a sudden push in acceleration which but goes a bit low end when nearing 14k, may be because its output is max at 11k rpm. I wasnt observing speeds because i knew iam doing a lot more than other motorists on the road. Keeping a tab on those RPM levels made me feel a completely different rider, to be precise a one which has a little bit judgement of track riding. Well to be precise i've never made it on the tracks, trust me..what ever knowledge i have used is bookish and learning by watching experts. But from two days i felt the practical experience and it was brutal and filled with only adrenaline.

Coming to the posture, you do feel quite relaxed once use to it. But that might require for me shed fat. Obvious iam quite overweight (laughs off when changing gears at 6k rpm). Somewhere i had to sum up by saying is there a need to have a liter bike when you have this wonder for city use. The owner said use it for another year then maybe you might not feel the same... i wasnt sure i was copying what he was saying... To face it, its one of the best one in the country that can be flicked by fanning a bit and also have a god top end. Also i do not wish to compare but the reality is the CBR feels a pumped up zma or a 220....and the 250R is way to different, its in a different world. I dont really think it will require all the 6 gears to outrun a wing, it can do it in the first 2 or max 3rd gear itself. Lets not go in that direction.

Also, i found the Ninja to be very flexible in the city too. I mean its ok you can really rip 1st and 2nd in traffic... between signals yes you can to stay out of the flock. Overheating and all those issues i see none. May be it was well maintained like the owner, Anytime Anywhere!!

Summing it up i find myself lucky to have the power of 33horses mugged up inside metal blocks under my seat... the experience was way out of this world...those passing street lights, pin stripes, tarmac....totally priceless..

Thank you for reading this, i just wanted to share and be a part of this bike....
                            Someday soon!!!!!

                            • Is it a new one or a used bike u picked up. If its new are u not following the engine run-in recomendation? (0 to 800 kms not to exceed 4000rpm and 800 to 1600 not exceed 8000).
