    • Oh boy, I'm having so much fun riding both the Royal Enfield and the Ninja 250R. I ride the Ninja 250R for a few days, then cover it in my parking. Then I start riding my Royal Enfield for a couple of days before I get back to my Ninja again.

It is like riding a brand new bike every other day. My 2004 Electra has gears on the right side with a 1 up 3 down pattern, and the Ninja 250R is just the opposite; left side gears and 1 down and 5 up. The Bullet has a sofa like seat and a relaxed riding position; the Ninja is comparatively uncomfortable but has killer brakes and handling which the RE lacks... The Ninja has a hard rear suspension, while the RE is relatively spongy. The Ninja peps forward while starting from traffic lights, while the 2004 leviathan leisurely thumps into motion, with a charm and character uniquely its own.

Both these bikes are so different (but somehow strangely complement each other) that I have no choice but to enjoy them both for their strengths and shortcomings. Man, I could do this forever!

        • how much does an average Ninja 250R owner has to pay for annual insurance for the bike in india?

We might have to shed $1000-$1400 in US for annual insurance.. again it differs from state to state...

The maintanence cost is much cheaper in india than owning it in US...

          • The Indian website 20north.com sells them. I don't know of any offline place which sell them.

she is and after the Ninja hoopla dying down some guys are complaining about her being down on power, though it mostly has to do with 3 big ones spent on a 250,

an inline with around ~4 lacs having 400-600cc developing6-70 bhp should be cracker with killer handling with delta box not diamond type,
              Thanks jd and R series

I know, insurance in US can be expensive, to the tune of $80-100 a month on an average. In India, it is around Rs.5100 a year, $105.

But the average salaries in India are at least to the tune of 1:10 comparison with US wages, so it evens out from an income standpoint.

                  Sure...an inline 4 with 60 to 70 bhp is gonna cost 4 lacs !!!!one11!
Ninja sucks at 3 lacs...wtf...its so expensive for a 250 CC engine. I dont understand much of handling or suspension or about the stability of the bike at high speeds or about engine refinement or high rpm reliability nor about braking. But what the hell..those are the least important aspects of a bike at all. I know that more the horsepower the bike has the better the bike is. Sure...with 3 lacs the ninja is almost at par with its price in US(cause the US one is Carb). But then the Ninja 250R is overpriced all over the world. What a piece of junk to buy.No wonder it doesnt sell anywhere !

Sounds too "analytical" and "technical" to me.

Agree! My RE has a 350 engine and more torque! It is much better than the Ninja! It is 100cc's more than the Kawasaki and has bigger tyres too! But it costs less than a lakh! Amazing! Everyone buy a 500 cc Classic!

                              • @ Tenhut,
This side of you was unseen till now and i do agree with what you say.
Ninja at present cant be compared to any Indian bike whatever technology it has, its leagues above in almost all criterias.

I havent had a TD of Ninja till now nor expect to have in near future but i believe you owners and most importantly our privileged xBhpians who had personally visited the Chakan test track and came out damn impressed with the bike. The paint quality, finishin everything oozes quality and regarding sales, well well the waiting list shows whats selling and whats not.

But yeah aint 3L a lot more than Ninja deserved (pun intented)
