The bike has a compression ratio of 11.6:1 &hence the best recommended fuel type is 91 octane. Since the Ninja forums say it can take minimum 87 octane, even if you use normal unleaded fuel it will not be an issue.
I say stick to Extra Premium or any other 91 octane. 93/97 octane not needed.

Just something I came across in the Ninja forums about run-in:
              1st 500 miles (~750kms.): Below 4K RPM.
              Next 500 miles (~750kms.): Below 6K RPM.

Please let me know the speeds she is doing in top gear at the above RPMs!
This is mentioned in the User Manual of Ninja 250 2008 Carburetor version

              Distance traveled Maximum engine speed
              0 ~ 800 km (0 ~ 500 mi) 4 000 r/min (rpm)
              800-1 600 km (500 ~ 1 000 mi) 6 000 r/min (rpm)

Can someone please let me know the finance options for the Ninja and if you got it full cash upfront or finance. I am eagerly awaiting for a red Ninja, will Kawa get a red one here as well, or else will go for a green one. Congrats to all Ninja owners and please explain the finance process if you have any idea,Cheers.

                      • O wow wow wow wow !!!

My little cousin insisted on cleaning my bike so that he could get a ride on the Ninja !

I asked him to oil the chain instead of cleaning it. ( it is certinaly easier to simply drip some oil onto the chain than clean the fairings etc )

Gawd ! The guy applied 90 Oil to my brake pads and onto the rotors.

Any ideas how I can now get the oil out of the porous brake pads ?
Any brake cleaning agents which break down the structure of the oil ?

                        God Damn It!!!!!

i think a good wash will clean off the oil from the brake pads...

                          • oops!!! oil damages the pads. Many shops now a days have Cyclo brake pad cleaner or something similar. That might help you as a stop-gap arrangement. Try it at the earliest - before the oil makes it's way deep into the pads.

Either way pls get new pads at the earliest. Some damage is already done and you'd loose the braking power.

Its been more than 32 hrs and the damage has already been done !
Oh man...all i did was ask the bugger to oil the chain. * bangs his head against steel *

I might need to get new pads as the braking efficiency is reduced to oblivion.

Its like no one in india trips on this lol
