• Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R

Went down to the Whitefield service center to see if they can order parts for me. Seems Kawasaki bikes are now not even in their system - so no chance of servicing or getting spare parts at KTM service centers.

As of now Bangalore seems to have one Kawasaki service center (Near St Joseph's College, Langford Road). Hopefully Kochi has one as well.

Will have to appear for a service soon.

For a couple of months, I wanted to get my Karupee a proper waxing and polishing done.. Unfortunately, I had to quit my job due to some horrible circumstances the company was going through so I kept silent for a month searching for job.. Got a job in 10 days and was waiting for my salary after the month end...

As soon as I got my salary, I paid my CC debts, savings for the new pink addition as part of my sweet family and then with whatever is left, I planned to get better gears for my wife and myself.. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the swirl marks on my Karupee off of my mind.. Yes, I bought her in the month of Aug 2016 and she hasn't got the best care from her previous owner and I didn't have much time nor I cared much about the swirl marks but recently it was haunting me down..

First thing I did was google for bike spa in and around Delhi NCR.. Called up some 5 guys after being declined for bike detailing I recollected there is one just outside my society apartments.. I immediately went to them and after a short discussion, I was asked to come the next day morning (Saturday) to get the detailing done.. He was offering me different packages but I didn't want to spend too much money during this crisis and I wanted to first give this treatment a try..

It was Saturday. i went for an early morning bicycle ride, went out and played some badminton with my wife.. waiting for the clock to strike 10..

Took Karupee to the spa and I had to wait for an hour before they started off with the work..

First was a foam wash removing all the minute particles from the body of the bike..

After which they started polishing the dashboard material with the 3M shiner.. waiting for the 3 Step material to arrive..

As soon as it arrived, the guy applied it all over and started polishing.. this was a long process and they did 3 layers of coating.. I wasn't really impressed post the 2nd coating..

and after the 3rd coating.. the bike was glossy.. swirl marks removed.. fantastic it was..

Thank You!! Overall, it cost me 500/-

He quoted 600/- and I promised him I will bring my cars to him if I am a happy customer and he reduced it to 500/-

As I promised, I took my Ertiga!!

I forgot to mention that the front visor was good for nothing with so many scratches.. I was never able to see through it.. They promised me that it will be much clear.. and as they promised, it sure was.. I am a happy customer and will take my bike for detailing once every 6 months..

FOr Banaglore folks the service is still being done by the kasturba KTM Kawasaki Group, i just did a cross check with chetan from langford road. he says all spares will be available till kawasaki does not open its own service center in jayanagar . In Kasturba road check for Bhanu or Ravi.

Thanks buddy

2010.. I took ownership of the bike in Aug 2016.. 7 years old. Previous owner didn't take too good care of her. The bike had lost its gloss by 50%
But now she is back to perfect.. minor scratches here and there which I will take care of in a couple of months..

Hello everyone,

I have a strange problem. While moving forward, there is a sound coming from the front. It is coming somewhere from the wheel or the disc because it comes in the rotation cycle. I tried looking around the wheel, but nothing was seen. Its like something is getting hit and happens only while moving forward. From the feel, it feels more like a cable or some soft part and not metal.

Any idea?

Something is probably stuck. Something very minute.. kindly inspect the front fender as well..

What kind of sound? Is it a squeak or a creak or a thud?

rreneav1987 - I tried slipping my fingers between the Tyre and the fender, but couldn't find anything. Will try removing it and see.

Its more like a 'thud', but its soft.

Update:

Took it to the ASC. They said the front brake pad is worn out and have to replaced.
Can I try the ZMA brake pads? or is Goldfren better?

Is it possible to swap the rear and front brake pads?

The ZMA brakepads aren't going to be effective and I would recommend you stick to what Kwacker SVC holds.. the bite isn't going to be as crisp as stock..

I went to Kawasaki Bangalore today.. The new service center they have is at Jayanagar 7th block. I don't have the exact location, but collected phone numbers of 2 guys there. (One person was earlier working at Bajaj Katsurba road - Kawasaki engineer). If this benefits someone..
